From evening April 6 and all 7, 2024,
Northeast and East Iceland: Blönduós - Höfn, and the Central highland:
🌪 Heavy winds 10-20 m/sek (36-72 km/h). Stronger wind gusts on mountain roads.
❄️ Snowfall and blizzard or blowing snow.
❗️ Very bad visibility and difficult driving conditions.
🔴 Road closures highly likely.
❗️ Change travel plans❗️

🇬🇧EN: The bad weather continues ... 💨
Today and tomorrow (October 10th and 11th) there is a:
🟡Yellow weather warning issued around the island with wind 54-90km/h and strong wind gusts. Rain, possible snow on mountain roads and poor visibility.
🟠Orange weather warning issued for the South-East (Kirkjubæjarklaustur to Höfn) and the North-West to North-East (Borgarnes-Hólmavík, Borgarnes-Akureyri, Akureyri-Mývatn and Egilsstaðir) with strong winds (72-108km/h gusts up to 144km/h), rain and snow on the mountain roads. Expect bad visibility.
Difficult and impassible driving conditions due to poor visibility and strong winds.

Beneath it are several active volcanoes with high geothermal activity
