Iceland tour - day 3/5
Hiking in Heinabergsfjöll and kayaking on heinabergslón. The eastern half of the Vatnajökull national park is much less visited than the western half but still delivers some stunning scenery, Heinabergslón is the second biggest and deepest of Icelands glacier lakes and after some large calvings from the glacier in recent years you can find some spectacular icebergs floating there. . . . . .

This is the fastest melting glacier in Iceland and so comparing a picture from today, 7 years later it is quite a change. So if you visit a glacier, take a picture from the front, maybe you will be back there again. (Note the large rock/cliff on the right hand side . . .

When coming up with the logo for our company we had to think of a place representing the furthest, off the beaten path, we could think of. Having visited Greenland last year this place came to our mind right away. Storebror mountain is the highest mountain above the settlements of east greenland and climbing it feels about as far from the beaten path that one can get. And as such it ended up as our logo.
Second picture shows this impressive peak and the surrounding granite spires. . . . . . . .
