Friendly reminder for tomorrow:

Dear hikers and adventurers,

Due to an event and Icelandic holiday called Menningarnótt next Saturday the 24th of August, the whole of downtown Reykjavik is closed and both buses and cars are prohibited from entering the area. Therefore, we had to change the first pick up point in Reykjavík from City Hall to Hringbraut 29, bus stop in front of the Student Hostel for both departures at 07:30 and 12:30.

Those travelling back to Reykjavík from Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk will also be dropped off at Hringbraut 29 for both departures 14:30 and 18:00.

Attention: The travelers going to and from The Reykjavik campsite in Laugardalur do not need to worry about this change.

Due to road closures on the 10th of August 2024, our highland bus departure at 12:30 will be moved to Hringbraut 29, 101 Reykjavik.

Dear hikers and adventurers,

Our daily scheduled highland busses will operate this summer from 19th of June until the 11th of September.

Dear hikers,

Unfortunately we have had to move all our costumers going to and from Þórsmörk tomorrow, 6th of September, over to our friends at Reykjavík Excursions. That means that the pick up times have changed and that everyone will be taking a Reykjavík Excursions bus.

Please notice the following changes to tickets:

To Þórsmörk
From Reykjavík Campsite at 06:30
From BSÍ Bus Terminal at 07:00
From Hella at 08:30
From Hvolsvöllur at 09 (change the bus)

From Þórsmörk
From Básar at 15
From Langidalur at 15:15

Due to an event and holiday called Menningarnótt, the whole of downtown Reykjavík is closed and both busses and cars that day are prohibited from entering the area. Therefore we had to change the first pick up point.

We are looking foward to see you all at BSÍ 20.08.

Finally some good news :)
We will start our operations of our daily scheduled highland busses to Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk tomorrow according to schedule.

Newest update: Unfortunately we have to cancel all our operations to both Þórsmörk and Landmannalaugar for 17., 18., 19., and 20th of June to due very bad road conditions to Þórsmörk and closed roads to Landmannalaugar. We will hopefully begin our operations on Tuesday the 21st.🤞 We are very sorry for this inconvenience, but we are not in charge of road conditions and closures.

Due to the closure of the road to Landmannalaugar, we will not be able to start our operations tomorrow. We do not know yet when it will open, but we will keep our customers updated. This is always a possibility at the start of the season, but we are hopeful that we will start our daily schedule to the highlands in a few days :)

The daily highland scheduled buses will operate longer this season due to many requests. Landmannalaugar will be operated until September 13th and last day for Þórsmörk will be the 15th of september. Bookings are open now!

It looks like people are finally able to travel this week😁
We´ve had to close all departures until July 19th due to number of bookings, which is fantastic! Unfortunately that means that those who want to travel can't book their ticket online to be 100% sure of getting a seat on the buses. You can always show up thought and ask if there are any seats available🙂

We ask all our clients to check our new timetables at our website wwww.trex.is. Some changes had to be made. Bus #2 to and from Landmannalaugar unfortunately had to be cancelled and the starting point at City Hall in Reykjavík had to be moved to The BSÍ Bus Terminal at 07:00, not 07:30.
You will find all necessary information on our website.
