The Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often referred to as "Iceland in Miniature," is a region in western Iceland renowned for its diverse landscapes, including glaciers, volcanoes, lava fields, waterfalls, and rugged coastlines. Many believe it is full of magic and may even contain the entrance to the center of the earth. Either way it offers endless photography options and Black Church at Budir, Lonsdrangar, Arnarstapi and Kirkjufell Mountain are just a few of the locations we visit on our Winter Wonders of South and West Iceland Photo workshop in February.

This workshop is an incredible opportunity for nature and wildlife photographers. A small group of photographers will travel together to a remote nature reserve in northwest Iceland, just below the Arctic Circle. The reserve is home to some of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife habitats.

It’s an ideal location for photographing Arctic foxes, as they are commonly found in this region. The workshop is scheduled during the Arctic foxes’ active season, ensuring participants can observe and photograph the only native terrestrial mammal in Iceland in their natural habitat.

We stay in a very remote nature reserve, in a cozy lodge with a private chef for the group, a sauna, and a fantastic landscape.
