🗻 Amongst many geological wonders of Iceland two prominent rocks of Londrangar are the most impressive witnesses of ancient volcanic activity. They are plugs of basalt, that have been hewn out from softer surrounding rock by erosion. Once there were a volcanic crater, but all that remains after ocean destruction are two great pillars, one 75 meters high and the other 61 meters.

A short walk up the green hill Svalthufa takes you to the edge of the Thufubjarg cliff to watch the interesting bird life and then walk down to the rocky castle of Londrangar pillars.

Interesting fact: the farmers in the area never make hay on the hill, because it is said to belong to the elves living in the area.

🌋 Feel the Hot Power of the Earth: Valley of Geysers.

The Geysir geothermal area is one of the greatest natural attractions in Iceland. It is located in the South West of the island. This steaming and bubbling center of geothermal activity is easily accessible from Reykjavik, so you can visit it during a Golden Circle day tour.

❓ How does it work? It’s all about geothermal energy of Earth. Groundwater comes into contact with hot bedrock and heats up, building pressure. When the water has reached peak temperature and pressure, it spouts out into the air. You won’t be able to jump into these hot springs as the geothermal water is extremely hot, but prepare to watch and film the astonishing water eruption. The spring spouts a column of hot water for up to 30 meters every few minutes.

If you want to have enough time to enjoy the valley of hot springs, a one-day tour on a comfortable mini-bus will be perfect for you. We will pick you up directly from your hotel and provide with perfect service and unforgettable memories during the trip. Active link for booking is in the first comment! 🚘

🗻 Ice Kingdom: Glacier Vatnajokull.
This amazing blue miracle — is the largest glacier in Europe. It covers 8% of Iceland’s landmass, and the average thickness of the ice is 400 m. There are many glacier tongues spreading from the massive ice cap Vatnajökull. One of these outlet glaciers is Breidamerkurjokull, which ends in the world famous Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon.

The lagoon opens toward the sea and contains a mixture of salt and freshwater, giving it a unique blue-green color. During summer months, you can take boat rides on the lagoon and see familiar from Batman Begins, James Bond and Game of Thrones blue-white-turquoise landscapes.

There are many jaw-dropping locations in Iceland, but Vatnajokull glacier is definitely one of the most impressive. Enjoy it with us! Join our small group to explore the best places of Iceland with comfort. We will pick you up directly from your hotel and take you to the Vatnajokull National Park on a super-comfortable Jeep or mini-bus. 📍 South Coast in Iceland has a world of its own with countless sites to explore, settlements with wonderful accommodation options, restaurants, friendly locals, and cute little cafes to blow off some steam.

🔵 One of these hard-to-miss attractions is Dyrhólaey, the arch with a hole in it.
📍 It located near the village Vik. It is at a distance of 174 kilometers and 2.5 hours away from the capital city.

⚪️ A former island, Dyrhólaey is a peninsula at the southern edge of the country.

🔴 The arch itself is a very popular spot among tourists simply for the view of the ocean from the edge of the arch and the hefty population of puffins that it gets during the feeding and breeding season.

🐧 Dyrhólaey is one of the most populated breeding grounds of Atlantic Puffins.

💙 The calm waters of the ocean, the contrasting landscape, the cute little puffins, and the overwhelming feeling that this place initiates into your heart are enough reasons to pay a visit when you travel to the south.

❤️ See you there!

😍 Why is Reynisfjara beach black?

• Iceland is a country full of volcanic activity, and this is the reason behind the black sand.

• The black sediment on Reynisfjara beach has been formed by boiling hot lava, from the currently dormant volcano, floating across the beach, then cooling and solidifying when hitting the cold water.

😍 Where can you find black sand beaches?

• Black sand beaches may not provide the best sunbathing spots but they certainly provide some jaw-dropping views and intrigue travelers from all over the world with the mysterious atmosphere they create.

• Iceland boasts a number of black beaches awash with silky dark sand including Diamond Beach on the eastern coast near to Iceland’s highest mountain peak Hvannadalshnúkur, and Djúpalónssandur Beach on the west coast near Snæfellsjökull National Park.

🤍 However, Reynisfjara beach lying in the southernmost part of Iceland is undoubtedly Iceland’s, and one of the world’s most beautiful black sand beaches!

🇮🇸 If you are in Iceland on the day of Summer Solstice, you can join the celebrations around Reykjavik to witness the Midnight Sun on the longest day of the year, where many Icelanders gather late at night to watch the sun dip below the horizon and rise back up again. Wow!

☀️ IT`S SUMMER solstice in the Northern Hemisphere!

🔆 WINTER Solstice

🇮🇸 Not that there is a scarcity of place to experience and witness the wonderful natural phenomenon, athletic activities like hiking, visiting glaciers and volcanoes, knowing some interesting bits of mythology or taking a dip in the hot spring but you will probably have to travel to multiple different places in order to enjoy them all.

📍 Þórsmörk or Thorsmork is one of the very few places in Iceland where you can find all these activities without having to move in all four different directions at once.

How was the Ice Vikings project born?🧐

Our team has been organizing adventure tours all over the world for 9 years already. We can get you as acquainted with the country as possible in a single trip.

We also organized tours around Ukraine and buggy tours

Ice Vikings is a separate project, which was created three years ago and focused on the one and only Iceland.

Everything was great: we had a lot of tours, satisfied travelers, a friendly team, and a number of plans to implement. But the war had come to us, so we had to leave. Iceland has always been our second home on travel. That is why the choice was obvious. We know it from underground to the top of a glacier.

We decided to keep doing what we do best – creating the greatest trips to Iceland. And we decided to send 20% of our earnings to support Ukrainians.

The war is no reason to give up. We keep living our lives, looking for new development paths, and we are proud to be who we are🇺🇦

Why Iceland? 🇮🇸

We’ve explored Iceland from a densely populated coast to a lifeless center of the island. We know all the secret places on this island!

For us, Iceland is…
👉🏻 Nature. Incredible sceneries, hot geysers and unpredictable volcanoes, majestic mountains and mighty glaciers. You’ll see all that on our non-trivial tours.
👉🏻 Inspiration. What could be more impressive than the northern lights? Or a whale swimming past your boat? Going up onto a glacier or taking a helicopter flight over a volcano? We did our best to include a never-to-be-forgotten lifetime experience in our every expedition.
👉🏻 Locals. Viking roots gave Northerners a firm and resilient character, but deep down every Icelander is a kind soul. You’ll see it for yourself during festivals, family farming and simply walking along the streets of Reykjavík.
👉🏻 Food. You’ll get acquainted with northern, genuinely authentic cuisine! Soft sheep cheese skyr and an abundance of various seafood. On our tours, we cook an Icelandic BBQ ourselves as well as go to the best restaurants. Are you ready to taste hákarl with us?

Going to Iceland is like ending up in another world. It’s the perfect resting place for those who are looking for something unexpected.
