The Valley of Thor, or Þórsmörk (Thorsmork) in Icelandic, is a nature reserve in the southern highlands, located between three glaciers; Eyjafjallajökull (the famous glacier volcano that erupted in 2010 and caused widespread disruption to air traffic in Europe), Mýrdalsjökull and Tindfjallajökull. Þórsmörk is a place of diverse and magnificent landscape with its ice-capped peaks, jagged mountain ridges and valleys rich with moss and birch woodland. Þórsmörk is a paradise for hikers, photographers, and nature lovers.

After your pick-up in Reykjavík at dawn, we embark on a Super Jeep tour to the South Coast of Iceland. The tour starts along with highway #1 but right before reaching Selfoss, we take a hard left turn up North into the Icelandic Highlands. We will drive into the middle of the Golden Circle, without the stops, and if you are lucky, you might see the majestic Geysir spew out the super-heated geothermal water approx.

It’s difficult not to recommend a trip around this part of Iceland to anyone visiting the country as, no matter what your tastes are as a traveler, it is almost guaranteed to have something you will enjoy.
