While experiencing yet another eruption we allow ourselves to reminisce to a few years back when a different volcano erupted and it was accessible and safe to visit. So of course our first thought was - we need to marry a madly in love couple who is up for the adventure! It didn't take S&J long to say yes, they had been engaged and were planning their wedding while Covid hit and had to put plans on hold. This was a perfect extraordinary intimate moment hiking together through a snowstorm, finding the perfect spot, have the clouds part for the ceremony. It was a truly unique day that we will forever cherish and remember. The volcano erupting at the moment is not safe to visit but rest assured if there comes a day again where there is an erupting volcano that's safe to visit, we will help you get married there!

We're headed Out of Office 🌈

The team has been lucky enough to be incredibly busy with beautiful Iceland weddings this year. After a job incredibly done the Pink Iceland team is being treated to a tropical retreat which means we will be happily out of office until December 10th

We’re excited to get back to you when we return to the office fresh and zen ready to get back to planning.

A new fissure eruption started on Reykjanes Peninsula on November 20, at 11:14 PM by Sundhnúksgígar crater, marking the seventh eruption in the area since December 2023.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

🛩 Air traffic to and from Iceland operates normally, and the country remains a safe destination.
🚨The eruption's effects are localized to the eruption site with road closures and do not threaten people.
🥳 All services in Iceland are operating as usual.

MONITORING AND PREPAREDNESS
Iceland is no stranger to seismic and volcanic activity. Iceland authorities, and the public, are highly prepared for such events . The well-being of residents and visitors is the utmost priority; authorities are vigilant and prepared. Icelandic infrastructure is designed and built to withstand seismic events. Iceland possesses considerable experience in protecting vital infrastructure in the event of an eruption.

Today, on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we pause to honour, remember, and celebrate the lives of our transgender siblings whose lights have been extinguished too soon. This day is not only a solemn moment of reflection and grief but also a call to recognize the enduring strength and resilience of the transgender community.

To our transgender community: your courage, your stories, and your lives matter immensely. You enrich our world with your diverse perspectives and experiences. On this day, and every day, we see you, we honour you, and we stand with you.

We encourage our followers and friends to follow Trans Ísland and Samtökin '78 🏳️‍⚧️ Both associations accept donations that are used to educate about LGBTQ+ topics and protect LGBTQ+ lives.

For the past 13 years Pink Iceland has had the absolute joy and honour to plan destination weddings and elopements in Iceland. Pink Iceland's dedication to our craft of creating unforgettable experiences has been rewarded both with the hugs, kisses and reviews from our couples as well as awards within our industry. We have received the innovation award from The Icelandic Travel Industry association twice and in 2023 we were voted 'Favourite Destination Wedding planner Europe & Asia' at RSVP, a wedding professional conference.

As born and bred locals we feel extremely lucky to plan weddings in Iceland, getting to introduce our couples to the stunning nature, delicious food and fun culture all the while getting married in Iceland.

Iceland is the most perfect place to get married, nature creates gorgeous backdrops for your ceremony and photos, the possibilities are endless and the vendors we work with here are truly tried and tested as we've planned over 1000 weddings in Iceland.

From the moment we founded the company we had a clear vision. We wanted to enjoy what we do, work with nice people, think about the environment, practise honesty and of course provide the best wedding service imaginable. We're happy to say that we have succeeded, we openly ask people who are q***rphobic, sexist and racist to take their business elsewhere, we've received numerous awards, our team is happy in their work and judging by over 800 5 star reviews our couples are extactic.

We look forward to help you plan your Iceland wedding

With love from Iceland
