The Reykjanes peninsula is where you usually arrive when you fly to Iceland. It is one of the great arid regions in the country and has more shapes and sizes of than most places in the island.
Our Lava Safari day tours take you to many of the wonders of Reykjanes. We depart from Reykjavik and visit lake, surrounded by eerie sandstone formations, we pass geothermal area with solfataras and steam blowing everywhere. We visit a fishing village and pass endless varieties of geothermal splendor driving through the Reykjanes .
The beauty of the peninsula stems primarily from the covered postglacial lava flows and the dream-like steam clouds.
Countless lava fields canvass the peninsula, different textures, shapes and hardness, with colors ranging from dark to lighter grey, and all the way to brick red.
