History and Culture of Iceland 📖
Leifur Eiríksson, Viking explorer, son of the famous Erik the Red and considered the first European to reach the shores of North America, possibly Newfoundland, a land he called Vinland, 500 years before Christopher Columbus. This is the statue that United States gave to Iceland, offering the impressive view in front of the Hallgrímskirkja church during the Winter Lights Festival in Reykjavík.

Although it is not known with certainty where they winter (somewhere in the ocean), in spring they come to the coast to breed, and that is the only reason they land! These sociable creatures mate during the spring, and stay together to care for their one egg and chick all summer 🐣

📌The force of a storm in Reynisdrangar, the famous trolls of Vík í Mýrdal.
Icelandic folklore is full of stories of trolls and hidden people. In Vík they have their own legend, it is said that this impressive rock formations on the cliffs are two trolls who were dedicated to assaulting the ships that sailed along the Icelandic coast at night and dragging them to the coast to loot them, but one day they tried with a very large ship and it took them longer than expected to drag it to shore, that caused them to be surprised by the sunrise, and when they came into contact with the light of day, the trolls were petrified forever.

🔥The volcano is more alive than ever! After more than a week of inactivity, this weekend we have seen and enjoyed this lava and fire show again. According to the page of the Volcanology and Natural Disaster Team of the University of Iceland, what caused this apparent inactivity on the surface was an obstruction, which on Saturday gave way to the force of the lava and allowed it to flow back into the surface, even being visible from the city of Reykjavík.

The character of the Icelandic horse is friendly and welcoming, they are adventurous, intelligent and quick to learn. They grew up in the Icelandic nature, so they had to fight through all kinds of weather conditions making them adapt the Icelandic climate. We are very proud of our furry friends 🥰
