Although getting to Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon is not possible at this time of year, our guides never let us down and always have a backup plan 🤩

I have only experienced this twice in over 12 years, the Glacial Lagoon at Jökulsárlón with no Icebergs. Driver guides for Gateway to Iceland, have a plan B.
Drive, slowly and carefully up a track to another glacial lagoon. In many cases it gets a bigger wow than the original. I even have a plan C.

The Sun Voyager, a stainless steel sculpture on Reykjavik's waterfront, was created by Jón Gunnar Árnason in 1990.
It's a dreamboat, a Viking ship, and a bird, all rolled into one! It's meant to be a tribute to the sun, a symbol of hope, dream, freedom, and the spirit of exploration!
