Was just finishing my first album at Compass Point Studios!🥳😎 Keith Richards played lil' guitar and Shaun Ryder sang some ace backing vocals. Co-headlining tour with Ron Sexsmith in the autumn.

I'm also doing some walks in July. Busy year!

Fun but infofilled walk with these Tourism Studies pupils from The University of Iceland. I've done a guest lecture on creative tourism since 2016 and it's always rich and fullfilling👊💙

A lovely walk on a Saturday with a mixed group of stags and hens! A first for RMW. Joviality characterised these suburban heroes and Reykjavik blessed us with perfect weather!

The mighty Pavement are doing a three night residency in Harpa, Reykjavik's mighty concert hall. We're doing two specially commissioned walking tours because of that mighty fact and here are the wonderful group of fans/walkers, beautiful people with just the right amount of indie scruff!🧢👕🎸

Tagging along were Bob Nastanovich, Steve West and Spiral Stairs, Pavement members one and all and I can confirm that they were on their best behaviour. They even tolerated my terrible jokes, albeit with clenched smiles. Lovely guys!❤️

We have a few regulars, friends of RMW if you will, that keep coming back. Professor Barbara A Kerr, from The University of Kansas, brought her students to the walk today and this is the third time she visits me. They were researching creativity and sociality in the Icelandic music scene and I did my utmost to connect Iceland's popular music history to those pointers and themes. The walk was merry and highly enjoyable as always!!

Honoured to be trusted with a mobile workshop for the European Urban Research Association who had their conference at The University of Iceland just before the weekend.

We of course had our urban studies hat firmly on but laughter was not forgotten because, what's the fun in having no fun???

It was quite rainy this morning but the weather got better, gradually. And of course it did as my walkers today came from the Icelandic Met Office!🌊🌛⛅️⛈️☄️

A chatty and engaging group and we almost ran into trouble, time wise, such was the joy in taking a nerdy music plunge.

Pure joy. Thanx for the weather you climate controllers!🌬

Smashing walk this ... erm ... lovely and just a wee bit rainy evening. Summer in Iceland eh!

Fifty folks, all attending the IFC AudioDocs conference but the International Feature Conference (IFC) is a conference for radio and audio documentary makers from all over the world. RÚV was the host this time.

A grand time was had by all!!🙏❤️🦄

My good friend Stella snapped this photo from the 2nd floor of Iðnó theatre today. It's me, the guide, pondering about the magic of music along with today's group, the lovely staff of VSÓ ráðgjöf. The cityscape is breathtaking!🥰☀️☁️

Tracy from Toronto! One of the many great Wilco fans I met this weekend in my tours. Tracy has worked closely with Neil Young, tour managering, taking care of his dogs and appearing in the Greendale 'play' among other things.

Life is people.

PS. Scored extra points by mentioning Canada's house band, The Tragically Hip.

Bumbed into the great Rock Paper Sisters in Iðnó, while I was showing a tourist group around (Wilco fans). Met my brother from another mother (drummer Jónbi) and just great to see the guys. Music activity is STRONG in Iceland!❤️👊🙏

Quality walk with these Wilco fans❤️ We had the chance to talk about SXSW, The Sugarcubes visiting Iowa in 1992, the beauty of the Reykjavik pond, Hüsker Dü bootlegs and fire stations. In addition to the endless rumminations about Icelandic music. We even saw a band soundchecking in Iðnó!

We sang in the salty breeze!💙😀

Such a great walk this morning with Wilco fans from the world over❤️ Such a warm and engaged crowd. I talked briefly about the ... erm ... brief alt.country scene we had in Iceland in c.a. 2002/2003 in conjunction with general pointers about Icelandic music history.

We turned the orbit around!💛😀

We are doing a special version of the walk in relation to the Wilco residency at Harpa. I even slotted in a brief speech about the short lived Icelandic alt.country scene!❤️🤠

Weather conditions banned us from walking so the Reykjavik Music Talk was ignited, resulting in a very cozy and engaging music talk in the early morning. What could be better? The weather gods have nothing on us!!🤩🌪

Back in the Hood! Staff from Fylkir, a multi-sport club in Árbær, one of Reykjavik's suburbs, joined me for a lovely Saturday walk. I grew up in this neighbourhood, a wee and comfy 'village' nestled comfortably in the east part of the city. A river runs through it and it has green spaces aplenty.

As you can see, I became quite nostalgic doing the walk, as some of my co-walkers were friends and acquaintances from said hood. And a great time was had by all!

An incredible, super deluxe version of the tour wrapped up! Met this Belgian group of friends in Harpa where we talked about Icelandic music in depth. Broke that up with a wee visit to 12 Tónar, before ending the tour in lovely Tíu Sopar, where we talked about music in even MORE depth!!

Brilliant walk today with the staff from the Icelandic Geodesy/Cartography institute. We never got lost on the way and my guests awarded me with exact measurements of the length of the tour in the end. Science rocks!

On a bit more serious note, laughs and giddiness all around and a truly enjoyable walk in the beautiful weather today❤🙏
