I wriggle in the seat, sweat and consider walking out, it was too uncomfortable to see this, the fight-or-flight response kicked in, full force. I was looking away from the screen but could still picture very clearly what was going on due to the nerve-wrecking soundtrack. This happened around three times during the first part of the film in Háskólabíó cinema.

The Substance is shown at RIFF | Reykjavík International Film Festival, currently running in Reykjavík, a proper psycho-thriller with Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid. I have never experienced such reactions to a film nor seen comparable reactions from others in the room. Link in comments to the full review.

This means that there can be sheep, people and horse-riders on the roads from time to time. Please pay attention, slow down and show patience while passing. The Snæfellsnes Peninsula has a lot to offer travelers, including its towns. In Grundarfjörður, you can find an interesting example of cultural exchange, fitting with Icelanders love for coffee, a specialty Colombian coffee shop that opened in 2022.
