🎤🎸🥁 Iceland Airwaves 2024 finished last weekend.

"I simply entered the zone from the first tone to the last due to brilliant lyrics and melodies that caught the audience and kept them half-hypnotized (but also singing along and dancing) until the end of the final song." - from the description of one of this year's concerts. I wriggle in the seat, sweat and consider walking out, it was too uncomfortable to see this, the fight-or-flight response kicked in, full force. I was looking away from the screen but could still picture very clearly what was going on due to the nerve-wrecking soundtrack. This happened around three times during the first part of the film in Háskólabíó cinema.

The Substance is shown at RIFF | Reykjavík International Film Festival, currently running in Reykjavík, a proper psycho-thriller with Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid. I have never experienced such reactions to a film nor seen comparable reactions from others in the room. Link in comments to the full review.
