Well, here we go again! It seems yet another magma intrusion has kicked off on the Reykjanes Peninsula yesterday. Will there be another eruption in the area soon? We don't know and it's likely still to early to know for sure. What we do know is that another big earthquake swarm kicked off around 2PM yesterday. The epicentres of the quakes seem to be moving more towards the northeast which likely indicates magma movement. Time will tell! At least, here's another shot of the previous eruption which I haven't shared yet. I took it at the end of June just after the crater had been erupting extremely vigorously for many hours - right before the fog rolled in. I was actually sitting at home looking at the we**am for some time before I ended up running out of the house to try and capture this crazy phase. I was lucky to get there as quick as I did.

Skálholt is located in the immediate vicinity of our cottage Holt in the Golden Circle.
