The exhibition can be visited all year around, is open daily from 09:00 - 18:00 between June 1st until August 31st and by request during other times. Just let us know when you will come for a visit and we open for you. We have also horses for sale from our own breed, in different ages and different stages of training.

Welcome to Lýtingsstaðir, our home in Skagafjörður, North Iceland. We are Sveinn, Evelyn Ýr and Júlíus Guðni. We opened our farm for guests in the year 2000 and have been developing our touristic service over the last two decades. We are a fully licensed company, providing high quality service.

We would like you to come and experience the Icelandic horse in its natural environment and in a unique way on our authentic Icelandic horse farm. We offer short and multi day horseback riding tours, individual riding holidays on the farm and accommodation in three wooden cottages. We are open all year around. THE OLD STABLE, build of turf is an exhibition to introduce you to the Icelandic Horse&Heritage. Where else in Iceland could a place like this be as Skagafjörður is considered to be “the cradle of the Icelandic horse”? We welcome individual travellers as well as groups and offer an informative visit of THE OLD STABLE. Groups are personally guided. Individual visitors can enjoy our audio guide, available in 4 different languages. Just listen, relax and enjoy the stories we will tell you. You want to learn more about Skagafjörður and the North of Iceland? Book a guided tour around the North in a comfortable jeep. Evelyn Ýr is a qualified tour guide and offers her guiding service between October and May. We have also horses for sale from our own breed, in different ages and different stages of training.
