Reflecting on the recent seismic activity at Bárðarbunga situation in north-west of Vatnajökull, which experienced its most significant earthquake swarm in a decade on January 14, 2025 ⁠

We got reminded of the awe-inspiring moments we captured during the 2014-2015 Holuhraun an eruption from Bárðabunga. That event lasted nearly six months and reshaped the landscape with its vast lava fields.

Ice caves change constantly so not only do we scout in the autumn to find the best caves, we also monitor them closely during the season so we always know what the best tour is for you 🇮🇸⁠ We always choose the Ice Cave that is the safest and it can change from day to day. Usually our Ice Caves are between 30-70m long 🤩⁠

Our 4x4s are essential for conquering the challenging trails leading to hidden gems off the beaten path. Our guides let out tire pressure if needed to make the ride a bit more smooth on these big tires 🏞️⁠

However, it's important to note that off-roading is illegal in Iceland to preserve its delicate ecosystems. Let's adventure responsibly and respect the land we're fortunate to explore. So we only drive on existing trails of which many of them are old farmers trails that have been around for generations 👩🏼‍🌾⁠
