Funnily enough I was in Torino yesterday. I still think it’s great to be able to get a train (and a seat) in to this beautiful city for 5€. It only takes half an hour from Asti. Then this interesting article pops up in The Independent telling the virtues of Piedmont.

This article in The Telegraph captures perfectly why this “shoulder” season is a fabulous time to visit Italy.

Here in Monferrato there are so many festivals and Christmas markets to explore. The famous, Alba White Truffle festival is on now until the 3rd of December.
Closer to home the Moncalvo 69th Truffle Fiera is on this Sunday and the 29th.

I know, we live here so are biased but if

is your thing, this place is heaven. We’ve ridden for 4 hours today mainly off road under the shade of the trees. We hardly saw anyone and the views were jaw dropping.

Throwback Thursday

The making of the ground floor at N°18

Originally it was 3 separate spaces, stables, storage and an open fireplace for making “succo di pomodori” Rich tomato sauce to be bottled and stored for use throughout the year. It took some sandblasting to get the soot off the vaulted ceilings.

Keep Sunday Special

Creating a special place where families and friends can create wonderful memories of a fantastic holiday was our mission. During the search for the right house it did feel like Mission Impossible (excuse the pun but we’ve just been to Milano to see the film, don’t miss it) In our 3rd year with so many happy guests it feels like Mission Accomplished.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas from the gang at N°18! It’s not quite a wrap for the year with new guests arriving on Boxing Day and after 2 years it’s still a special and thankful experience every time a new booking notification arrives, we want to say a huge thank you to all our guests from 2022 and to all those arriving in 2023 for choosing N°18 and this little corner of Italy as their place to getaway to.

posted a piece on prettiest towns to visit in 2023. There’s a link in stories ⬆️ . Why wait for 2023, some of these astounding places get pretty clogged up in the height of the summer. Now in winter it’s a different story. Last Sunday was a picture perfect Piedmontese day. China blue sky, snow capped mountains and warm sunshine. We took the opportunity to head to Rapello and Portofino. Only 2 easy hours from N°18. Needless to say the jewel of the Italian Riveria didn’t disappoint.

From skiing to day tripping achingly beautiful towns there is so much of Piedmont to discover.

Stay at N°18 and nowhere is too far for an adventure.

Availability up to the 25th of December then from the 16th of January 23.
