👩🏻‍❤️‍👨🏻 Puglia too has its own "Romeo and Juliet", they lived in Vico del Gargano, as ‪‬ narrates.

🫒It all started in an olive oil mill, where the love between Rocco and Soccorsa flourished. They came from two rival families and were forced to flee to be together.
A story that ended tragically, due to the hatred of the girl's father.

🌊To this date, on the night of San Rocco some still see them walking hand in hand on the beach of the 100 steps, in San Menaio, where they spent their only day as husband and wife.

A cliff overlooking the sea and the scenic Tower of Santa Maria dell'Alto, in Nardò, are the symbols of today’s tale.
Pinuccio, in the company of his faithful buddy Sabino, tells the legend of Marta and Gregorio, two young lovers willing to do anything to escape the “ius primae noctis” imposed by the cruel one-eyed lord of Puglia.

A hero who steals from the rich and gives to the poor—does it ring a bell?
We’re not talking about Robin Hood, but rather Santa Justa, the “righteous knight” who, with the help of his leopard, helped the people of Lucera during the Angevin siege.
The echo of his deeds can still be heard within the castle walls and in the tales of the people of Lucera, as Pinuccio explains here.

✨In Hoboken, the Madonna dei Martiri celebrations are in full swing, a tradition that crossed the ocean with the immigrants from Molfetta to America and has been carried on for 98 years.

📌Until September 8, gazing at the Manhattan skyline from the shores of the Hudson River, the typical flavors and folklore atmosphere of Puglian festivals is being revived, with typical Puglian “luminarie” lightings, processions, Puglian cuisine & wine stands, and music.
