Happy 2nd June!! W 🇮🇹!! Today l did another tour of the Meis of Ferrara including the Italian Jews in the 20th century exhibition.

The ltalian Constitution was adopted on 22nd December 1947, an extraordinary, beautifully written, well-structured, antifascist constitution at its heart which is relevant today♥️. It doesn't allow the concentration of power, it disperses it.

The 1946 Italian institutional referendum was held on 2 June. The republican side won 54% of the vote and Italy officially became a republic. The Kingdom of Italy was no more. It was the first time that the whole Italian Peninsula was under a form of republican governance since the end of the Roman Republic.

Yesterday l did my last tour of 2023 and Bologna wasn't very peaceful. Here was the Vecchione, meaning old man before he was burned. Happy New Year everyone!! 🔥🎇🎉🎊✌️💐

Yesterday morning, the close family and friends of the illustruous art historian, Eugenio Riccomini, met in the camera ardente, by Flavio Favelli, at the Certosa. As the coffin was sealed Bella Ciao was sung, also by members of the public. Later he was transferred to the Archiginasium, where the public could pay homage. Proud to be a communist as you can probably tell by the hammer and sickle he considered the spreading of culture a civil service. He died on Christmas night. He wanted to change the world, and he succeeded. Thank you maestro❤️❤️❤️

Am very begrieved about the passing of the Art Historian from Bologna, Eugenio Riccomini. In the interview extract he says:
His father Was called Generous but was actually very stingy. He had finished middle school and and got a splendid report apart from a six in maths, but otherwise nines. His father really thrilled said he wanted to give him a gift. Eugenio was very fond of Fausto Coppi and asked for a racing bike. Generoso had married a very severe Piemontese woman after the death of his mother, who looked him up and down as he was a discolo (unruly) and she was a dame of the house of Savoy. The bike never arrived and he got a drawer full of water colours and fine paint brushes. He didn't know what to do with them but one day, in the Piemonte mountain house, he found a tavoletta of Cézanne Who he didn't know and he tried copying it. The step mum saw his painting and said “You tried to paint, you paint like a dog.”

When they returned to Parma she found him a teacher from the Academy delle belle Arti who he is forever grateful to and about whom he wrote two books about. Italians feel free to correct any errors😅❤️❤️

Yesterday was the anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri in Ravenna on September 14th 1321. The claim to his remains by Florence and Ravenna was a real 🦴 of contention. Why did he flee to Ravenna? Is the core of inferno hot or cold and why? There Is a Ravenna Dante festival with beautiful concerts and also talks from the 13th to 17th September. Fancy coming on a tour to find out?
