I was very pleased to see Norwegian author Jon Fosse be awarded the Nobel Price of Litterature for 2023! Congratulations 🥳

"His immense oeuvre written in Norwegian Nynorsk and spanning a variety of genres consists of a wealth of plays, novels, poetry collections, essays, children’s books and translations. While he is today one of the most widely performed playwrights in the world, he has also become increasingly recognised for his prose."

I have to admit personally I have not read a lot of his books (yet), so I have much to look forward to. The ones I have read are named the Trilogy, and consists of three books named Andvake (2007), Olavs Draumar (2012) and Kveldsvævd (2014).

"A cruel saga of love and violence with strong Biblical allusions, it is set in the barren coastal landscape where almost all of Fosse’s fiction takes place. For this highly dramatic and tautly crafted tale, Fosse was awarded the 2015 Nordic Council Literature Prize."

Those three books made a huge impact on me, and I'm craving more of Jon Fosse, and I think now is the time. This winter!

About us

Welcome to Villa Architetti Piemonte !

Our house is located in Calamandrana, a small town in Northern Italy, lying in the heart of the Barbera vineyards and landscapes of Monferrato, approx. 35 km from Alba and 50km from Genova.

The region is famous for its food, especially wine and truffles, beautiful landscapes and magnificent architecture. Due to its authentic culture it was given a „World Heritage” status by the UNESCO. Cycling and hiking can be enjoyed nearby.

Villa Architetti Piemonte can accommodate up to 14 guests in 4 suites with double beds and private bathrooms, and 2 double sleeping sofas. We offer a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a barbecue. The property also has several outdoor areas, such as a terrace and a lounge. WiFi and TV with satellite channels available. Free parking on property.
