After a 90 minute drive, I arrived in Cefalu a bit hungry. It was too early for lunch and too late for breakfast. Admittedly, I love how easy it is to come across healthy snacks in Sicily. There are fruit and vegetable stands on every other corner, and even in the center of a touristy place like Cefalu, this guy was a welcome sight.

Much better than 7-11 😎

Just barely a two hour drive along the coast from Villa Felice is Cefalu.

It's a lovely town on the north coast of Sicily and it was a perfect day for a walk around town...a little shopping...a little sightseeing...and then a leisurely seafood lunch overlooking the Tyrrhenian sea before heading back to the villa for an aperativo 🍷

During this past trip, I spent a lazy Sunday afternoon in a neighboring town called, Terrasini. It is a bit quiet this time of year, but there are lots of great restaurants, shoppes, and it’s just a really interesting town to walk around and take in the sights.

We went to a café to grab a quick pick-me-up espresso, but as soon as I ordered, I realized I didn’t have any money on me. I stopped the barista before he started and apologized stating I forgot my money.

He insisted on making the coffee anyway and even asked if we wanted a baked treat. Fortunately, I realized that I had a bill in a jacket pocket and was able to pay, but this wasn’t the first time I experienced this kind of simple generosity in Sicily. Needless to say, I told him I would return and appreciate his kindness and he replied, “Lo so, a presto.” (I know, see you soon.)
