Accompanied by some inevitable controversy about the method of reconstruction and the style of musealisation, after twenty years of study, research and restoration, the Telamon, the 'stone giant' of ancient Akragas, one of the colossal anthropomorphic statues that supported the architrave of the temple of Zeus Olympius, the Olympieion, symbol of the Valley of the Temples, has been returned to its upright position.

Carved from stone with meticulous craftsmanship, its muscular form exudes strength and endurance, reflecting the unparalleled architectural achievements of the ancient Greeks.

Whether one likes it or not, the Telamon standing as a silent sentinel in the majestic Valley of the Temples is a new reason to visit the majestic archaeological park in Agrigento for the first time, or to return.

The statue, which is almost 8 metres high, is supported by a 12-metre steel structure to which brackets are anchored where the individual pieces of the reassembled monument are placed. The statue, made of calcarenite blocks, is the largest in antiquity in Sicily and among the largest in Greek art as a whole.

The significance of the Telamone statue lies not only in its artistic beauty but also in its historical and cultural importance. As part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Valley of the Temples preserves the remnants of ancient Greek civilization in Sicily, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Mediterranean history.
Another Telamon is on display at the Archaeological Museum in Agrigento.

😍A couple's experience on board one of our most beautiful yachts is our way of celebrating love and Valentine's Day.

Embarking from the volcanic island of Stromboli, nestled in the breathtaking Aeolian archipelago, our lovely couple set sail on a luxurious yacht bound for Sicily, guided by the radiant hues of a sunset that ignites the horizon. As the warm glow of the sinking sun envelops the rugged cliffs and tranquil waters, their anniversary journey took on a magical essence, weaving moments of intimacy and romance against the backdrop of the Mediterranean's timeless beauty.

Navigating from Stromboli to Sicily on a luxury yacht at sunset is more than a voyage—it is a celebration of love, companionship, and the boundless possibilities that lie ahead. It is a reminder that amidst life's grand adventures, the greatest treasures are found in the embrace of a loved one, and the promise of tomorrow's horizons.

What a nice surprise it was Manzoni 46 in Milazzo, Sicily!

In the historical centre, a stone's throw from the departure terminal for the Aeolian Islands, this small boutique hotel is located in a building that retains Art Nouveau and Deco references, renovated with contemporary taste by Felice, Maria and Dalila, elegant and friendly hosts.

Of the nine guest rooms, the two Junior Suites in particular express the right combination of refinement and comfort that the modern traveller expects to find.

After hours of driving, we relaxed on the large terrace enjoying the sunset over the picturesque harbour. The next morning, while waiting to catch our hydrofoil to Lipari, we sank back onto the terrace, basking in the warm October morning sun and having a hearty and varied Sicilian breakfast surrounded by lemon trees, succulents, jasmine and bougainvillea.

Milazzo 46, is certainly our point of reference in Milazzo!

If you are a creative and enthusiastic chap with an adaptive mindset, the ability to work under pressure and a problem solving attitude, you might consider to apply for the following open position at L’Isolabella – Lifestyle experience in Sicily, Italy & Malta, a leading luxury tour operator / DMC in Sicily.
As an experience designer you will create luxury trips and experiences for our very high-end clientele from all over the world. The role entails handling each proposal from start to finish including suppliers, budget, documents, follow-up.
The position is for the current season, April - October, but if you fit well into our small team and we both enjoy working together, it might turn into a full-time one.
Timeline is flexible if you need, and you can also work remote.

As an Experience Designer, this is what you need to have to apply:
• 2 year experience minimum, preferably at luxury TO/DMC.
A full knowledge of the Tourism or Event industry is considered a strong asset, you bet!
• Deep knowledge of the region of Sicily. Other regions as Campania and Apulia are welcome.
If Malta is on your list, you might already be in pole position.
• C1 level of English. Additional languages as French and Spanish are welcome.
Free tip: refrain from writing C1 if you are a B1/2. Just tell the truth.
• Driving license and own car.
Driving around scouting, meeting suppliers and is key to fully enjoying the job.

Starting March with a couple of true VIPs from China has been amazing.
They flew in and out Sicily with their private aeroplane, chose small luxury hotels, enjoyed Michelin starred restaurants and small cosy trattorias and visited a few top wineries on Mt Etna.
They had a blast!

🥳 💥🔥🎇And ... she did it again!
Please, enjoy the magic show 𝗠𝘁 𝗘𝘁𝗻𝗮 gave us in 𝗦𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗹𝘆 last night. A new, grandiose and spectacular eruption from the south east crater.
We are all ok and grateful, despite the big cloud of smoke and black ash on the west side of the volcano.
The eruption was also clearly visible from Palermo, western Sicily, and even from St Paul's Bay in the north of 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗮.
