Our next trips are going to be celebratory! My name is Olivia Anthony. I’ve had 20 years of experience in Luxury Tourism. It started out being my summer job while I was here in Tuscany pursuing my musical studies and performance in Opera. This job was the reason I was able to deal with living 20+ years abroad, my clients became my friends, my tribe! That’s where OTribe comes in. I love creating an

authentic true Italian experience. I’ve redecorated villas, been a personal Consierge, organized events, weddings, concerts,taught wine education, taught cooking lessons, accompanied people all over Italy. What I tried to create was an immersion in what they were interested in. Let’s discover new places together. I truly feel after covid we’re all going to need a new way of traveling and connecting.Let’s do this!

Don’t miss “Le Logge” in Montalcino in the main square,
We’re waiting for the young racers to arrive at the bike race between Siena and Montalcino, called “Eroica”
Coming up this
week “Giro d’ Italia”.

It’s raining and cloudy but we’re out in the piazza under the “Logge” (covered arches) having “Crostini Toscani” a medieval dish in origin.

“Originally from Naples, the pastiera Napoletana has become a firm favourite throughout Italy during the Easter period. Like all good recipes, the origins are legendary. Some attribute it to one of the convents in Naples, while others claim that, like the city of Naples itself, it has pagan Greek origins.

Whatever the truth, the ingredients – ricotta cheese, candied peel, orange flower water – perfectly evoke the flavours and scents of spring in the bay of Naples.

The original recipe calls for pre-cooked wheat grains, grano cotto, which are available all over Italy at this time of year. If you can’t find them in your local deli, you can substitute it for Arborio rice, or another kind of risotto rice.”

Pasquetta, little Easter, the day after Easter (Pasqua). Some traditional food.
Pecorino (Sheep’s cheese)
We eat this with Fave, raw fava beans.The Monday after Easter is usually a picnic (scampagnata) but we are in Lockdown.
There are two Neopolitan Easter delicacies, Tortona ( bread baked with ham and scamorza cheese)
Pastiera for dessert is a dessert typical in Naples, a rich pie made with rice, orange, vanilla, ricotta, semolina flour)
Wines were Brunello di Montalcino 2016 Paisaggio, Fattoria di Camigliano, white wine Gamal 2019.
