🔷 San Gimignano holds its fame due to its numerous towers and its skyline 🌆 that can be seen for miles from the surrounding hill towns and countryside.
🔳 Most of the towers are constructed during the Medieval Age 🛡 as a result of the rivalry ⚔️ of its noble families that built better and higher towers to show their financial and politic power 💪.

▪️The sandstone-based soil of the San Gimignano’s hills is generally planted with Vernaccia variety of grape 🍇. Since the Renaissance, it has been considered one of Italy's finest white wines🍷 and it was the first Italian wine to be awarded DOC status in 1966 🏅
According to regulations, Vernaccia di San Gimigniano must contain 90% Vernaccia; is characteristically dry with crisp acidity and a slightly bitter finish.

🔻Many evidences prove Saffron 😋 has existed in the area of San Gimignano since the 13th century making the fortune of many local nobles families (the sames of the towers 😂).
Saffron of San Gimignano DOP can be produced only in its territory of the municipality and many of the steps in the cultivation process 🧑‍🌾 are still carried out by hand just like in the Middle Ages.

In 1869, his 1865 vintage was awarded a silver medal by the Agrarian Committee of Montepulciano. In the years following, Brunello was awarded other significant international recognitions and prizes, and it is now recognized as one of the best Italian wines.

✨ The elegance and the harmonious body of this wine allow for accompaniments of well structured and composite dishes such as red meats, game – both feather and fur, possibly accompanied by mushrooms and truffles.
It also goes perfectly together with international cuisine dishes with a base of meats and sauces.

🧀🍷 Brunello is also an excellent accompaniment for cheeses: seasoned tomes, Parmigiano Reggiano, Tuscan Pecorino, and structured cheeses.
