I’m the captain of Italy’s under-19 Ultimate Frisbee national team. I and my brothers Joe and Toby also play on the Fano Croccali, one of the up-and-coming teams in Italian Frisbee. My Mom’s Italian, my Dad’s American, and we’ve lived on both sides of the Atlantic. So my family and this Fano club squad could be – if you’re the right kind of inquisitive and sociable disc freak – excellent vehicles
for mediating a stimulating weeklong exposure to another world and way of life. I would be your host for a week in June or August. (Each session will have 8 participants.) I’ll make arrangements for your lodgings and board at a three-star hotel a block from the beach in Fano, a great Adriatic seaside town a half-hour south of Rimini. During your week here, you’ll play Frisbee – practice and games, on grass fields – with the Croccali at least three times. And we’ll organize day trips to give you the chance to appreciate art, architecture, cuisine and other joys of Italian life in the company of fellow players who live here. To experience Italy in a way the average young tourist simply cannot. The cost of your week in Fano will be around 900 dollars (700 euros). If you’re over 18 and interested, get in touch with me on Facebook or at [email protected], and we’ll work out the details.
