👍🏻Don’t miss out on the jewels of the Val d’Orcia .. Let Tuscany Inspired take you to visit the towns of Pienza and Montepulciano.
Pienza is famous for sheep’s cheese (Pecorino) and Montepulciano for it’s Wine “Nobile di Montepulciano.”

🍷 Both towns are easy to walk around although Montepulciano which is built on right on top of a hill.. so why not take a rest and try out a glass of Nobile di Montepulciano at a history wine cellar in the heart of town.

🐑 In Pienza stop and taste different Pecorino cheeses.
Pecorino di Pienza is aged in moulds made from wine barrels and has a unique flavour with 3 ageing varieties - fresh/semi mature and mature, why not try them all!

A magical night yesterday, not only for football fans but for all sports lovers. It was a thrilling match full of emotions, technique and team work in an impressive stadium, almost aggressive at times but it is there that Italy gives its best by returning to the field stronger than ever giving everyone a great lesson! All night long celebrations from north to south, bravi Azzurri!

Una notte magica quella di ieri, non solo per gli appassionati di calcio ma per tutti gli amanti dello sport. E' stata una partita avvincente e piena di emozioni, di tecnica e di spirito di squadra in uno stadio imponente, a momenti quasi agressivo ma è li che l'Italia da il meglio di se tornando in campo più forte di prima dando a tutti una grande lezione! Festeggiamenti per tutta la notte da nord a sud, bravi Azzurri!

📌 East of Florence inland by near the Tuscan coast .. Pisa and Lucca make a great days outing.

Pisa is famous for the leaning Tower where Galileo did his experiments on gravity abc the cathedral and baptistery all in the main square called campo dei Miracoli.

🚗Lucca a 20 minute drive from Pisa is a quaint town surrounded by thick medieval walls that you can still walk on around the city or even hire a bike and ride around the walls. 🚲
🕍 Enjoy wandering through Lucca and find the main ‘square’ Piazza San Michele is built on the site of an ancient Roman Forum and is therefore an oval shape.

📌 A est di Firenze, nell'entroterra, vicino alla costa toscana, Pisa e Lucca sono perfette per una gita di un giorno.

Pisa è famosa per la Torre pendente dove Galileo fece i suoi esperimenti sulla gravità, la cattedrale e il battistero tutti nella piazza principale chiamata campo dei Miracoli.

🚗Lucca a 20 minuti di macchina da Pisa è una caratteristica cittadina circondata da spesse mura medievali su cui si può ancora camminare intorno alla città o anche noleggiare una bicicletta e fare il giro delle mura. 🚲

🕍 Divertiti a vagare per Lucca e trova la piazza principale Piazza San Michele è costruita sul sito di un antico foro romano ed è quindi di forma ovale.

🎆 Today is a special holiday in Florence, June 24th is Florence’s patron Saint’s Day - San Giovanni.

🎇This is a special holiday for Florentines which is celebrated with a procession through the city and to end the day an amazing fireworks display from Piazzale Michelangelo which can be seen all along the Arno river and from rooftop terraces in the city.

🌾🌺🍃🌼 The night before San Giovanni is considered a magical night, as it falls after the summer solstice and is believed that this night ’the dew of the Gods’ will fall. In order to collect the dew which is believed to have the power to preserve from disease and ward off bad luck a bowl of water filled with wild flowers and herbs is set outside to collect the dew during the night. This water is then used to wash with the following day.

These are the traditions and legends that make living in Italy unique.

🎆 Oggi è una festa speciale a Firenze, il 24 giugno è la festa del patrono di Firenze - San Giovanni.

🎇Questa è una festa speciale per i fiorentini che viene celebrata con una processione attraverso la città e per finire la giornata un incredibile spettacolo pirotecnico da Piazzale Michelangelo che può essere visto lungo tutto il fiume Arno e dalle terrazze sui tetti della città.

🌾🌺🍃🌼 La notte prima di San Giovanni è considerata una notte magica, poiché cade dopo il solstizio d'estate e si crede che in questa notte cada la "rugiada degli dei". Per raccogliere la rugiada, che si crede abbia il potere di preservare dalle malattie e allontanare la sfortuna, una ciotola d'acqua piena di fiori selvatici ed erbe viene messa fuori per raccogliere la rugiada durante la notte. Quest'acqua viene poi usata per lavarsi il giorno seguente.

🆒Join Tuscany Inspired on a walking tour.

🕍 San Marco convent museum is a journey back in time at this nearly perfectly preserved 600-year-old Dominican Monastery which was paid for by the Medici family and designed by of the most famous architect’s in Florence’s history Michelozzo.

📌 After visiting the church and museum take a short walk down via Cavour to the Medici Ricciardi Palace, which was the very first Medici Palace in Florence.

⚜️ Cosimo the Elder commissioned the same Michelozzo to design this family residence. The Medici were forced out of Florence and the building was confiscated from the family. After 18 years in exile from Florence, the Medici were then restored to power and returned to the Medici Palace, this time with Lorenzo known as ‘The Magnificent reclaiming their historical dwelling.

🔦 After having learnt all about the Medici Family and their history and influence in Florence enjoy an afternoon at leisure in Florence and look out for the Medici crest all over the city.

🕍 Il museo del convento di San Marco è un viaggio indietro nel tempo in questo monastero domenicano di 600 anni, quasi perfettamente conservato, pagato dalla famiglia Medici e progettato da uno dei più famosi architetti della storia di Firenze, Michelozzo.

📌 Dopo aver visitato la chiesa e il museo, fai una breve passeggiata in via Cavour fino al Palazzo Medici Ricciardi, che fu il primo palazzo dei Medici a Firenze.

⚜️ Cosimo il Vecchio commissionò allo stesso Michelozzo la progettazione di questa residenza di famiglia. I Medici furono costretti a lasciare Firenze e il palazzo fu confiscato alla famiglia. Dopo 18 anni di esilio da Firenze, i Medici furono poi ripristinati al potere e tornarono a Palazzo Medici, questa volta con Lorenzo detto "il Magnifico" che reclamava la loro dimora storica.
