A few weeks ago, we had the incredible opportunity to visit and .are.sieme – a space redefining sustainable design and upcycling in Italy ✨

Starting from ‘Zero’ to reaching new heights 🤍

Meet Cassandra Kane – founder of Italy’s first upcycling and sustainable design hub, Zerolab, and the visionary behind We Are Sieme. Through intricate hand weaving, Cassandra gives upcycled leather a new, contemporary life, transforming it into unique and timeless accessories.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were immersed in a vibrant world of colors and textures: from soft suede to rich embossed leather, every piece told a story. Creative minds were hard at work crafting accessories, each displayed beautifully, ready to be discovered.

When we asked Cassandra about her inspiration, she shared:
„Every product is designed to be versatile and used to its fullest potential. For example, when you purchase the Luna Bag, you’re not just buying one bag, but five, as it can be styled in different ways.“ Each piece is a true one-of-a-kind, with unique weaving patterns that ensure no two bags are ever the same. Cassandra’s advice? „If you love it, take it now! I can’t recreate the exact same piece again.“

One standout for us was the Sera Bag – an elegant evening piece crafted as a statement accessory. Cassandra originally designed it for her wedding, inspired by a vintage beaded bag her mother owned in the 70s. “I debuted it on my wedding day, and even the photographer asked if I was there for the wedding or the bag!”

In a fast-paced world, it’s more important than ever to support local, ethical brands that prioritize sustainability, craftsmanship, and making a positive impact.
