was purchased in the 1970s by the three Bagnoli brothers, Renzo, Sergio, and Loriano, owners of the group. They decided to recover the vineyards and olive groves and restore the cellar.
In 2009 the company was rented, keeping the villa for family use, but in 2013 the family decided to take over the management again.
The 20 hectares of vineyards of Fattoria La Leccia are composed of both native vines - Sangiovese and Trebbiano - and international varieties, such as Merlot and Syrah, grown in areas with clayey soils rich in limestone with a mild and ventilated climate.
Fattoria La Leccia is located on the top of a promontory at about 200 meters. The surrounding lands, protected by Montalbano on the north side, are exposed to sea breezes in summer. The property is surrounded by forest, which, on the one hand, preserves biodiversity and, on the other, isolates the farm from the surrounding vineyards. The production also includes oil, thanks to the presence of 3500 olive trees of the Leccino, Frantoio, Moraiolo, Pendolino, and the rare Madonna dell'Impruneta cultivars, and also the beekeeping undertaken in 2019.
Today the farm management is entrusted to three women from the Bagnoli family: Paola, who takes care of the agricultural part and the cellar; Sibilla, who takes care of communication; and Angelica, who follows the administrative and artistic parts. Together with them, there is Lorenzo, brother of Sibilla and Angelica, who brings expertise and passion for wine.
The company philosophy is based on respect for nature, know-how, and the correct change. Since the 2019 harvest, La Leccia has been a certified organic company. This vital goal is accompanied by the commitment to maintain the vineyard's natural balance, both by reducing processing with machinery to a minimum and by protecting biodiversity.
