You won’t see me ever eating in a tourist trap in Florence. I know the signs and how to choose the most authentic restaurants.

Here are a few tips to ensure you eat well at an authentic restaurant in Italy.
-Avoid menus with photos
-National flags and translations of dishes
-Offering a tourist menu

Located between Certaldo and Barberino Val d’Elsa, Semifonte was a grand fortified city built by the Count Alberti during the late 12th century.

We’ll be in Florence very soon, here are 3 tips when traveling in Florence…

What are your 3 tips on traveling in and around Florence?

1. Florence is the easiest city to walk. The city has pedestrian streets all over. The street signs are located on the walls of each building, so look up to find the street you are on.

2. There is an afternoon break that most of the city takes. between 2pm-4pm (if not in the city center) most shops, restaurants and smaller museums close. In the summer in particular, streets in smaller neighborhoods could be deserted during these times.

3. Pre-book your museum tickets to save you time waiting in line all morning. It's easy to do. Be aware to buy the tickets directly from the museum, not other affliate sites. Prices could be higher if you do that.
