Experiencing the Cinque Terre from the sea is something else entirely. Having that perspective shift, taking in each town all at once, you really appreciate what genius the people from there had when they built their towns(In the early 1000’s!). In the background you can make out the horizontal lines. Those are terraced land, maximizing the amount of viable space to grow food, and vines for producing wine.

Has anyone tasted their DOCG white?! It is the perfect antidote for these steamy summer days!

In Italy, food is life, and nowhere is this more apparent than the culinary capital of Modena. We have designed a tour especially catered to foodies - your first stop is a Caseificio (dairy farm) to see the famed Parmigiano cheese be made. Then we’re off to an Acetaio (Vinegar maker) to learn the process and taste its highly structured flavor (did you know every Vinegar has a mother)? Then it’s lunch at a Prosciutteria(Prosciutto maker), to taste the ultimate charcuterie board. There are more surprises after lunch! Hint, hint..more wine and maybe some fancy cars..!!

Anyone want to guess how many liters of milk it takes to make one of those big wheels of cheese??!!
