Un motociclista convinto si trasferisce da Roma a Milano e si converte alla bicicletta. Partendo dalla propria esperienza e dal confronto dei vizi e delle virtù sulla mobilità delle due metropoli, Federico Del Prete indica che una nuova via è possibile: affrancarsi dall'uso compulsivo della macchina e abbracciare in modo liberatorio e costruttivo la mobilità ciclistica; scrollarsi di dosso definitivamente le sempre più pesanti spese per l'automobile e investire molti meno soldi in una bicicletta solida ed efficiente.

Dal nostro Bike Blog: Il “metro e mezzo”

Le modifiche al Codice della Strada promosse dall’attuale Governo sono state approvate dal Senato della Repubblica. Manca quindi solo l’ultimo passo, la promulgazione da parte del Presidente della Repubblica, Sergio Mattarella, prima della pubblicazione del nuovo testo sulla Gazzetta Ufficiale e, di consegenza, prima della sua effettiva entrata in vigore. Fra le varie norme che vengono inserite, ce ne sono anche alcune che riguardano le biciclette, sia in maniera diretta che indiretta. Molto attesa era quella relativa all’ormai celebre “metro e mezzo” da considerare, da parte dei conducenti di mezzi a motore, nel corso di sorpassi effettuati nei confronti, appunto, delle biciclette.

Nel nuovo Codice della Strada viene infatti inserito l’obbligo, per tutti i conducenti di veicoli a motore di mantenere, in caso di sorpasso, una “distanza di sicurezza laterale non inferiore a 1,5 metri”. Il tema è molto caro a diverse associazioni di categoria, che spesso si sono battute per sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica sulla questione. Da vedere, però, come saranno affrontati eventuali contenziosi, dato che la distanza in questione può essere rilevata solo con perizie da portare avanti a seguito di avvenuti incidenti.

The amendments to the Highway Code promoted by the current Government have been approved by the Senate of the Republic. The only thing missing is the last step, the promulgation by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, before the publication of the new text in the Official Journal and, consequently, before its actual entry into force. Among the various rules that are being inserted, there are also some that concern bicycles, both directly and indirectly. The one relating to the now famous "meter and a half" to be considered by drivers of motor vehicles, during overtaking carried out towards, precisely, bicycles, was highly anticipated.

In fact, the new Highway Code includes the obligation for all drivers of motor vehicles to maintain, in the event of overtaking, a "lateral safety distance of no less than 1.5 meters". The topic is very dear to various trade associations, which have often fought to raise public awareness on the issue. It remains to be seen, however, how any disputes will be addressed, given that the distance in question can only be detected with expert assessments to be carried out following accidents.

Il marchio cinese Urtopia chiama il suo ultimo progetto "Titanium Zero" e presenta la leggera e-bike al CES di Las Vegas. Come riporta Heise Medien, media partner ufficiale del CES 2025, la e-bike Urtopia pesa solo dieci chilogrammi, compresi batteria e motore. Il motore pesa solo 1,2 chili, eroga 65 Nm ed è appena più grande di una lattina di bibita.

Heise Medien scrive anche che è stato investito circa un milione di dollari nello sviluppo della e-bike, citando Bo Zhang, il CEO di Urtopia. Egli stima il valore dei componenti della bici a 50.000 dollari americani. Il telaio in titanio della bici da corsa proviene da una stampante 3D. Secondo Zhang, il motore sviluppato da lui stesso è appena visibile nel movimento centrale, si chiama Quark DM 1.2 e pesa 1,2 chilogrammi.

La batteria si trova nel telaio e dovrebbe guadagnare punti grazie all'alta densità energetica, alle dimensioni compatte e al peso ridotto. Urtopia parla di 300 Wh/kg, senza menzionare la capacità totale della batteria o l'autonomia massima che il prototipo potrebbe raggiungere con essa. Il produttore ha installato un deragliatore elettronico a 12 velocità di SRAM. Secondo Heise Medien, la Urtopia "Titanium Zero" è solo un prototipo senza prospettive di produzione in serie, ma l'esperienza acquisita con questo progetto confluirà nelle future biciclette di serie del produttore.

The Chinese brand Urtopia calls its latest project "Titanium Zero" and presents the lightweight e-bike at CES in Las Vegas. As Heise Medien, the official media partner of CES 2025, reports, the Urtopia e-bike weighs just ten kilograms, including battery and motor. The motor weighs just 1.2 kilograms, delivers 65 Nm and is barely larger than a soda can.

Heise Medien also writes that around one million dollars were invested in the development of the e-bike, citing Bo Zhang, the CEO of Urtopia. He estimates the value of the bike's components at 50,000 US dollars. The titanium frame of the racing bike comes from a 3D printer. According to Zhang, the motor developed by himself is barely visible in the bottom bracket, is called Quark DM 1.2 and weighs 1.2 kilograms.

The battery is located in the frame and should score points with its high energy density, compact dimensions and low weight. Urtopia speaks of 300 Wh/kg, without mentioning the total battery capacity or the maximum range that the prototype could achieve with it. The manufacturer has installed a 12-speed electronic derailleur from SRAM. According to Heise Medien, the Urtopia "Titanium Zero" is only a prototype without any prospects of series production, but the experience gained from this project will flow into the manufacturer's future series bikes.

Der Saisonstart auf dem eigenen Bike sollte mit genügend Ausdauer und Energie gelingen. Eine kleine Trainingseinheit im Frühling für eine Woche schraubt die Kondition kräftig nach oben. Dafür eignen sich zum Beispiel die Hotels in der Emilia Romagna und den Marken ganz besonders gut. Man kann das schöne Bike im Auto oder auch im Zug nach Rimini mitnehmen. Frühjahrestraining in Italien mit Leckerbissen

Schmankerl und Feinkost gibt es nicht nur auf dem Rad. Die Hotels bieten auch Halbpension an auf höchstem Niveau. In der Region wurden nicht nur Aceto Balsamico, Parmesan, Piadini, Sugo Bolognese oder Prosciutto di Parma erfunden, sondern man kocht auch auf sehr hohem Niveau mit Meeresfrüchten, Porcini (Steinpilzen) und hat für jedes Gericht auch das passende Getränk (Wein, Bier, Likör oder auch ohne Alkohol). Dal nostro Bike Blog: La strada si conquista. Donne, biciclette e rivoluzioni

La bicicletta per le donne non è mai stata solo un mezzo di trasporto, ma un veicolo con cui portare avanti battaglie, sfidare le convenzioni e tratteggiare la via per la propria emancipazione.

Dalla sua nascita agli anni delle pioniere; dalle imprese di Alfonsina Strada, unica donna ad aver preso parte a un Giro d’Italia maschile, alla Resistenza che trasformò la bicicletta in un’arma preziosa; dagli anni ’60, con le battaglie sociali e il riconoscimento del ciclismo agonistico femminile, all’epoca odierna in cui, a fronte di alcune importanti conquiste, il lavoro da fare resta molto.

La bicicletta è ancora sinonimo di resistenza e rivoluzione nei luoghi in cui le donne devono battersi per i diritti più elementari, ma anche nelle città occidentali, dove la lotta per il proprio riconoscimento va di pari passo con la ricerca di una mobilità democratica e inclusiva, con lo sguardo all’ambiente.

Nella battaglia per l’autodeterminazione, nella volontà di costruire una società più equa e giusta, la bicicletta è un’ottima alleata delle donne. Perché è sostenibile, libera, non violenta, e permette di conquistare spazi fisici e sociali che a volte ancora sembrano preclusi.

In the battle for self-determination, in the desire to build a more equal and just society, the bicycle is an excellent ally of women.

Because it is sustainable, free, non-violent, and allows us to conquer physical and social spaces that sometimes still seem closed.
