On August 18th, we celebrated Indian Independence Day with a vibrant event that brought our entire crew together in a burst of colors, music, and culture 🎉

This wasn’t just a celebration – it was a perfect example of how teamwork and diversity make life onboard so special 🔱

From stunning Bollywood dances to patriotic songs, a delicious "Taste of Nation" buffet, and the Indian Crew Party at the Disco... everyone put their heart into making this day unforgettable 💖

A special shoutout to Rakesh - Security Guard and Ngalakhan - Waiter, our amazing hosts, and the Illuminati Dance Crew for their incredible performances. And a big thanks to all the teams who worked behind the scenes (Entertainment, Housekeeping, IT, Galley, Security, and many more), even after long shifts, to create this magical event 👏🏼

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our Hotel General Manager Alessandro Marossa and everyone who made this party epic – we can’t wait to celebrate many more cultures and traditions with you all 🌏

She switched to Hospitality, but her heart was set on becoming an engineer. So, she went back to school and trained hard 📚

Now, she’s on her first contract aboard as an Engine Cadet, living her dream of working in the Engine team 💭

Over 𝟒𝟗 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 of 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 and 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: celebrating Executive Chef Salvatore Luppino 🎖️

On August 16th, we had the honor of awarding Salvatore a special pin for over 35 years of service (even though he's actually nearing 49 years!), presented by Captain Fabio Bramato of Costa Fascinosa 👏🏻

Starting his journey at a young age, Salvatore began his career aboard the Costa Flavia in 1975, and to this day, he continues to bring his culinary artistry to our kitchens 🌊

🔪 From kitchen assistant to Executive Chef, Salvatore shares:
“𝑰 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝟏𝟓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒇… 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆”

Tendering is a complex operation that involves multiple departments and roles
where teamwork and communication are everything 🌊

Our crew works in perfect sync to ensure a smooth and safe disembarkation process. From lowering the tenders, expertly managed by our Officers, to coordinating guests with the Entertainment team and Cruise Director, securing the tenders and gangway, and overseeing guest disembarkation by our Security team – everyone plays a vital role. And let's not forget the Tour department, which ensures that organized excursions run seamlessly once guests reach shore 🛥️💪🏻

Communication and collaboration are key to making sure every department is in sync, and that our passengers stay safe and satisfied throughout the process 👌🏻

On July 25, aboard the Costa Diadema, we kicked off our first-ever Crew Cultural Conference with a dive into Nordic culture 📚

Held in the Crew Bar, this event was a fantastic chance for our team to explore the Viking heritage of the regions we visit, like Copenhagen, Geiranger, and Bergen. With stunning fjords and rich traditions, it’s a great way to connect with the history we’re sharing with our guests 🏔️

A huge thanks to our amazing speakers, Maya Sané N’diaye and Jean Christophe Robles Espinosa, for bringing Viking legends to life 👏 And a special shoutout to Margherita Favazza, Pietro Ficarrotta, Juan Geanfranco Teves Calderon, and Alexander Albano Yburan for making this event happen 🙌

Today, we're shining a light on the awesome friendship between Amedeo, 1st Officer, and Michele Molinari, 3rd Officer a true example of teamwork and camaraderie on board 👐🏻

"We met in 2020, almost five years ago. We were onboard together: Michele was a Deck Cadet and I was the third officer. During that year, we faced the challenges of Covid, and it was then that we realized the importance of being both colleagues and friends, and how vital it is to have a united team 🤝🏻

At our next embarkation, we found ourselves together again, but with new ranks. On that occasion, we stood watch together, from midnight to 4 AM and from noon to 4 PM."

"After all these years, the bond between Amedeo and me has grown to be much more than just work-related. We've become friends, and for me, having this kind of relationship is essential, as we spend so much time together at work.
This connection allows us to support each other more naturally."
