Dear visitors and friends please read carefully :
The Italian Riviera is not currently part of the risk areas. Levanto and the Cinque Terre weren’t affected by the Coronavirus [COVID - 19] and the situation is constantly monitored, with safety and precautionary procedures put in place immediately, precisely to avoid the spread of the virus.
Luckily, our health system is extremely performing, and totally free for both locals and foreign visitors, and has been able to put into practice all the World Health Organization procedures.
This means for instance that upon landing in Italy you will have to undergo a very rapid electronic measurement of body temperature. An absolutely non-invasive procedure, for everyone's safety.
Life here is going on as usual, between seafront hikes, surfing and evening aperitifs with friends and we are actually quite surprised by what’s widespread in the media.
We are obviously aware that this is a mutation of the "normal" seasonal flu with no tested vaccine and we are therefore recommending you to pay particular attention if you have any cardio-respiratory condition.
If you decide to spend a few days in Levanto, reaching us and moving from one village to another is not a problem: trains run normally and from March 7th the Cinque Terre Express will be running
again after a winter break due to improvements to the railway line and to some of Cinque Terre stations. Tourist ferry service will also be running as usual with the arrival of spring.
The destination offers you history, culture and lots of outdoor activities… a breath of fresh air and slower rhythms, to take a relaxing break from the international health crisis of the last few weeks.
On Visit Levanto you will find excursions, activities, hiking trails and lots of useful information to plan your stay and we are always available should you wish more tips.
Not being virologists, just like journalists and politicians, in case of doubt we advise you to monitor both Italia.it and Viaggiare Sicuri (i.e. Travel Safe) official websites.
