Podere Consani has wonderful views overlooking the surrounding countryside – to the south-east towards Lucca and the more distant plain to Florence – to the north the stunning marble mountains and the Garfagnana with its picturesque hill-top towns and to the west the sea. The nearest beaches are at Viareggio (30min) and further up the coast are the beautiful sea-side towns of Lerici and Portovener

e and the characteristic fishing villages of the Cinque Terre. In fact Podere Consani lies in a very strategic position – only 20 minutes from beautiful historic Lucca surrounded by the magnificent walls on which one can either walk or bike, 45 min from Pisa airport and other historical cities such as Florence, Siena, S. San Martino in Freddana, the nearest for shops, is only 4km away in the valley below – it has a supermarket, 2 banks, a chemist, newsagent and a bakery as well as local restaurants and pizzerias. There is lots to see and do – that is if you can tear yourself away from the beauty of Podere Consani.

Lucca Comics & Games is the largest comics festival in Europe, and the second largest in the world. It is a 4 day convention dedicated to comics, entertainment, board and role-playing games and fantasy imagery.
Every year, the centre of Lucca is taken over by comics fans dressed in cosplay visiting the special exhibitions, tournaments and displays across the city centre and on the historic walls.

Settembre Lucchese: tradition and fun
Every year, for the month of September, the Tuscan town of Lucca comes to life with festivals, celebrations and fun, dedicating a whole month to bringing the city's people together in an event known as the 'settembre Lucchese'.
3 must-see events during 'Settembre Lucchese' are:
🎠 'Luna Park'
Just outside the city walls is the huge amusement park for all ages with rollercoasters, games and dodgems.
🕯️'Santa Croce'
The 14th September sees the traditional celebrations for the Holy Cross. A procession goes through the centre of town and all the streets are lit-up with candles and lamps.
🍩 'Frati'
Throughout the streets there are traditional markets, fairs and food stalls serving up local delicacies, including the sweet speciality that comes with this time of year in Lucca, 'frati', delicious fried and sugar-covered doughnuts.

📍Roman amphitheatre, Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, Lucca
This amphitheatre, where gladiator shows and games were originally held, was built in Lucca in the second half of the 1st century A.D.
Today the remains of the Roman amphitheatre are preserved, incorporated in the buildings bordering the present day Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, in the northern part of Lucca. The unique elliptic shape of the piazza corresponds to a great extent to the area of the ancient arena.
On the outer perimeter, along the Via dell'Anfiteatro, it is possible to see some of the original arena walls!

Questo anfiteatro, dove originariamente si svolgevano spettacoli e giochi di gladiatori, fu costruito a Lucca nella seconda metà del I secolo d.C..
Oggi i resti dell'anfiteatro romano sono conservati, incorporati negli edifici che costeggiano l'attuale Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, nella parte settentrionale di Lucca. La forma ellittica della piazza corrisponde in gran parte all'area dell'antica arena.

Hi, I'm Susan and I present you Podere Consani. Podere Consani is situated on a plateau in the lovely hills between the magnificent old town of Lucca and the coast. It consists of three houses built in stone on top of a small hill – Casa Cherubino and La Capanna are available for rent either separately or together. These two houses share a swimming pool. The natural gardens with roses, lemons, lavender and herbs lead into the adjacent olive groves, vineyard and woodland. Nature-lovers, painters and walkers alike cannot fail to enjoy the wonderful surroundings and lovely views and although Podere Consani is set in this oasis of peace, it is however only 15 minutes before the majestic walls of Lucca come into view. La casa si sviluppa su tre livelli. Il piano inferiore è composto da una cucina ben attrezzata e una sala da pranzo. La cucina ha accesso diretto al giardino dove c’è un tavolo di marmo sotto un pergolato per pranzare all’aperto. Il piano principale ha un soggiorno con una grande porta in vetro che si apre direttamente sul giardino di fronte alla piscina. Dal soggiorno si accede direttamente alla camera da letto principale con bagno privato. Al piano superiore ci sono altre 2 camere da letto ciascuna con bagno privato. I letti possono essere matrimoniali o singoli. La casa è costruita in pietra tradizionale con caratteristici pavimenti con mattonelle di cotto e soffitti con travi di legno. Ha tutti i comfort moderni e le comodità pur mantenendo il suo stile ed il suo originale fascino toscano. Da tutte le finestre delle camere da letto è possibile godere di splendide vedute.
