Buongiorno! January is when most people start planning their summer holidays. Have you booked yours yet? If you're still looking for somewhere to relax and recharge this summer, we recommend Western Sicily! Yes, ok, we're a little biased, but seriously, what's not to like about the glorious food, the guaranteed sunshine, the tranquil turquoise sea and the general laid-back vibe of this side of the island?

All I want for Christmas is…. a wonderful holiday next year! ☀️

Here’s to hoping travel will be easier by next summer. It’s nice to have something to look forward to, so we thought we’d remind you that Villa Santa Maria is open for 2021 bookings.

We know that life – or a pandemic – sometimes gets in the way, but we’re feeling positive, and already dreaming of al fresco pasta lunches in the lemon grove, island beach trips, and lazy poolside afternoons under the Sicilian sun. The Nero D’avola wine, the delicious local red prawns, the almond gelato! We can’t wait for all of it.

(It's a shame we can't trasmit scents & taste via this video. Ah well, you'll just have to try our beautiful olive oil when you next visit our villa 😉😉)

The Times and The Sunday Times have got us dreaming about our favourite Egadi island... Who needs to go as far as the Caribbean when you can enjoy the clear, turquoise waters of Favignana, easily accessible from Villa Santa Maria Sicily. 😍
"A half hour hydrofoil ride from Trapani, on the west coast of Sicily, the Egadi Islands are where italians, especially Sicilians, come to holiday.... 'Bellissima' came up a lot during our stay, especially when we asked the Favignana locals about the best beaches to visit. The answer was always Cala Rossa. "Bellissima". Sigh. Famous for its brilliantly blue water, it earned its prosaic-sounding name naval battle that took place there during the first Punic War (264-241BC)..."
