🐣 Easter Monday is a big holiday in Italy with lovely pic nics in the fields, barbecues and so much more.

Memories of our Ferragosto big lunch yesterday with best friends and neiborghs, plenty of delicious specialties and even better company!😊
😋🍦We made a huge portion of lasagne al ragù, the best porchetta (it melted in our mouth!) , chickpea flat bread "cecina", all sort of local cheeses and charcuteries , refreshing salad from the garden, and an amazing gelato and ricotta pie for dessert

And just like that, here we are touring and exploring Tuscany again! 😍
🤗 It is wonderful to finally be back at doing the work we love, and to introduce visitors and travelers from all over the world to our best friends and favourite places here in Toscana.
🐕 We begun our day with a fun and educational truffle hunt in the woods near Certaldo with Luigi and his wonderful family, searching for the Summer black truffle "scorzone" and learning fascinating stories about truffles. We could actually find several truffles, and one of them was pretty big too! 😎😋
🍝 We then moved to their kitchen, and experienced an amazing truffle-based lunch accompained by the local wines, joyful Italian songs and the most fabulous view you could dream to have 😍
🥂 Missing from the pictures are the laughs, the stories, and the pure joy of being together, creating memories and magic and becoming all friends ❤

🌞 We have been busy enjoying the beautiful sunshine and all the wonderful news and important steps we are achieving daily here in Italy in terms of vaccinations, reopening of activities and gradual loosening of the restrictions in place.
🥂 A lot to celebrate for sure, let's see in detail all the improvements in plan for the next weeks!
👉🏻 Starting from June 1st, throughout Italy regardless of the color of the region, indoor spaces are reopening by cafes and restaurants that until now have had to limit their activity to outdoor spaces and take-away. So we can now have breakfast, lunch and dinner indoors, and consume drinks or coffee at the bar counter.
👉🏻 There is no maximum number of people sitting at the same table , only thing is that when you get up from the table you need to wear your mask. From June 1st stadiums and outdoor arenas also reopen, with a capacity limit of 25% to allow social distancing.
👉🏻From June 7th the beginning of curfew is postponed by an hour, passing from 11pm to midnight.
👉🏻From June 15th trade fairs and congresses in presence will reopen, and on this same day water parks and outdoor/indoor parties, weddings, civil unions, baptisms and communions will reopen and will be allowed again (a green pass is required to participate in civil and religious ceremonies)
👉🏻 From June 21st curfew is abolished and even in yellow zones we will be able to move freely without time limits.
👉🏻 Vaccinations here are finally moving forward in a fast and efficent way, and we could also finally get our first shot yesterday!🍾 Starting from tomorrow anyone will be able to register for the vaccine regardless the age or profession, a huge step forward for Italy!!🤗
So many things to celebrate, feeling blessed and so hopeful for the coming weeks and months ☀

🍝 A perfect time and lunch at a beautiful farm just outside the Chianti village of San Casciano, with friendly owners, gorgeous views and delicious homemade food.
🐓🐐🐕🐷 At this "fattoria" they make their own olive oil, and they have any sort of animal from fluffy dogs to the adorable vietnamese pig "Fernanda" (soon to become mamma!), from chickens to ducks and goats; and even peacocks. A real heaven for animal and nature lovers!😍
🌱 A perfect way to relax for the whole family and to spend quality time outdoors, enjoying the simple beauty of nature surrounded by wonderful humans (and non-humans, too😉)
😋 We enjoyed an amazing lunch with homemade tortelli al ragù, gnudi toscani, charcuterie board with prosciutto, salame e mortadella, local cheeses, and much more!

Buongiorno dalla Toscana amici! 😍
🌱 Today is an important day for Italy, as most of the country opens up as yellow zone, allowing people to once again move freely within their own region and also to move from a yellow zone region to another yellow zone region (we could not do this since the past early Fall).
🍷Restaurants, cafes and wine bars are also reopening, but only the ones which have outdoor sitting areas to ensure lunch/early dinner outside 🌄
🤞🏻 Still cautious and on the "wait and see" mode, but full of hope for the coming months. We can do this! 🤗

🌸 Savouring Spring and all its delights!
🧀 Today we would love to introduce you to one of the best specialties we enjoy here in Tuscany in Spring: Tuscan pecorino, and, more in particular , the famous "Pecorino di Pienza"
🌱 The unique flavor of this cheese is obtained thanks to the clayey soils of the pastures and the fragrant herbs, which give to the milk a particular flavor of chestnut, laurel and herbaceous; and give birth to a unique cheese that is very different from other types of pecorino.
😮 This delicacy has a very long tradition and history, and it
was also loved by Lorenzo Il Magnifico, who used to go to Pienza to taste it.
🐑 The other peculiarity of this cheese is that it is obtained from the sheeps coming from the Sardinian breed. In the past Sardinian farmers, who were experts in pecorino production, moved to Tuscany with their sheeps, handing down their craftsmanship and letting this land become a point of reference for dairy production.
😊 Thrilled to share a little video of our favourite cheese farm in Pienza, runned by a very passionate family who committed their whole life in making the best quality pecorino cheese in total harmony with nature and with all the happy animals who live at the farm . 🐓🐐🐕
❤Owners Ulysse, Sandra and Micha (a real family affair!) only work with raw and organic milk. They firmly support the Slow Food Movement philosophy, and embrace its approach and vision working every day with deep passion and strong dedication.
🌾They are a self sufficient farm and grow their own grains, grapevines, olive groves and hay, being in control of the whole chain of production. They also have any sort of animal at their farm such as peacocks, donkeys, pigs, goats, chickens and of course, their adorable sheeps!

🌷Buongiorno dalla Toscana amici, hope you had a beautiful Easter!
😋 We have been eating our way through Pasqua and Pasquetta with lots of delicious recipes including the immancable "Torta Pasqualina" savoury pie with boiled eggs, spinach and ricotta.
🍜We also prepared a decadent HUGE lasagna with ragù, meatballs and besciamella, the most delicious "arrosticini" coming straight from Abruzzo, a colourful Spring salad with edible flowers and of course a delicious Colomba cake to end the meal 😍
🍷 Missing from the picture: a selection of fabulous wines coming from our private cellar, a beautiful table decorated with wild flowers from the nearby fields, the warmth of the beautiful Spring sun and the lovely songs of birds to accompany our meal 🕊

Neighbors😍 We are getting ready to spend our second Easter in national lockdown, and we could not be more grateful to live in such magical place surrounded by unspolit nature, incredible views and the BEST neighbors we could ever dream of!😊
🌱 Covid is definitely giving us a hard time and so much uncertainty, but it is also teaching us to be grateful for what we have and for all the special people and places that surround us.
😍 We are blessed to live in a peaceful hamlet made of just a few homes in the beautiful rural Chianti countryside, and to be able to enjoy daily walks with our neighbors discovering every day a different angle and perspective of our home and heritage.
❤It is amazing to observe how our landscape changes according to the different seasons, to breath and absorbe the marvellous beauty that nature is able to give us.
We are grateful to be able to call our neighbors our "famiglia" , and to grow together day after day into a strong and incredible community. 🌺 We help each other, and cook and dream and laugh and simply enjoy the power of sharing inspiring stories and being present for each other.
