Where street style meets culture...Milan a place to BE..
Where street style meets culture...Milano a place to BE..
The historic Bocca Library opened in Turin in 1775 with the Giovanni Antonio Sebastiano and Secondo Bocca brothers, natives of Asti. It was the year William Turner was born, Volta invented the electrophorus and in America the Independence War broke out. How much water has since passed under the bridges ... The French Revolution, the Austrian domination, Napoleon, the Wars of Independence, the twentieth century with the two World Wars in, the ‘29 Great Crisis and the even bigger one started in 2008 in America with the failure of Lehman Brothers.
Today the Bocca Library is perhaps the oldest book company left in business.
Five of the library's offices have been in the past: Paris, Florence, Rome, Turin and Milan, the only one to survive. The fate of the company for a long time followed those of Italy, the Bocca brothers printed for the Savoia Royal family. Our national culture has a great debt towards the publishing house that includes among its authors Gioberti, Pellico, Previati, Segantini, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Freud. Works such as Pellico's “Le mie prigioni” 1832 have contributed to upsetting old social balances or to open new paths to the evolution of human thought, as in the case of Freud's interpretation of dreams.

A Medieval Fortress in the heart of a Modern city...unique
Lovely visit to "The Sforza Castle" a medieval fortress in the heart of modern city.....unique... ..
The castle has a mysterious fascination that takes visitors back in time.
Built in the mid-15th century by Duke Francesco Sforza, the fortress has a troubled history.
At the end of the 18th century, during the French domination, the beautiful painted halls of the castle were damaged by Napoleon Bonaparte housing his army and troupe horses, regardless the beautiful frescoes by Leonardo da Vinci and Bramantino and later by the Austrians army. The final damages were carried out by the Milanese people during the riots in 1848 to free the city from the invaders.
Restored and reconstructed in 1861, after Italy’s unification, under the direction of architect Luca Beltramini, but it was only in 1905 that the Filarete Tower was finalized and finally returned to the people in its original 15th century Gothic-Renaissance style. It was a challenge the Milanese were determined to complete, since to them the castle is the symbol of the ancient Duchy and its independence.
The battlements offer visitors an impressive view of the city. Looking north, the skyline of the Alps and looking down on the Ghirlanda (covered road) you can imagine stories of intrigue, escape and passionate encounters. From here a messenger could escape unseen during attack. It is said that one secret passageway led all the way to Villa Simonetta, outside the city walls.

Fashion
Ladies, wish to shop the Limited Edition "Milanese Fashion"? Come with me and let us visit Salvatore La Rocca's Atelier. A fascinating elegant bright space, fresh flowers, design furniture and starring limited edition women's wear, just like the owner a tall and smiling gentleman.
Salvo loves his work, technique and tailoring are the key to understand the style: extreme attention to the cuts, the volumes, the research on fabrics and details: "Fashion is a set of different jobs" he says. "The designer, the tailor, the craftsman, the technician." Why limited edition? The collection is "in progress", changes from month to month, without neglecting any of the female universe nuance, from a comfortable pant or dress to the great soirée.
