📍 Caprera Island, Sardinia, Italy 🌊✨
Hey, travel fam! 💛 Just came back from the most incredible trip to Caprera Island ever and I can’t wait to tell you about it! This secret treasure in the northeast of Sardinia could not be any more ideal for nature lovers and history buffs. 🏝️🌿
Think of transparent azure waters, immaculate beaches, and luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation—Caprera has them all! On this vacation, I went around the island’s spectacular coastline discovering beautiful secluded beaches that were ideal for sunbathing and swimming in its cool ocean where every time you turn there is another amazing beach. Oh my God!!!! The vistas are absolutely stunning and worth an Instagram shot! 📸🌊
Nonetheless, Caprera is not only a paradise for beach bums. It also holds a great historical and cultural significance. The island was the cherished residence of Giuseppe Garibaldi—an Italian national hero—and one can explore his house-turned-museum that sheds light on various aspects of his captivating life including his achievements. As we toured through the ancient sites discovering how Garibaldi played a part in unifying Italy, it was something we shall never forget.
For those looking for some adventure, there are fantastic hiking trails as well as bike tracks which cut across its rough terrain giving breathtaking panoramic views over the archipelago. Make sure to take some time off to visit Cala Coticcio famously referred to as “Tahiti” because of its amazing crystal-clear waters plus dramatic rock formations.
Caprera is one slice of heaven on earth, for those who want to have peace and amidst natural beauty with a small history. It doesn’t matter if you are relaxing on the beach, going down to azure water or digging through the historical artifacts of the island; Caprera will knock you out. Put this magic island in your list of things to do before death. You will not be disappointed!
