Predicting the behavior of an almost incompressible non-linear elastic material, such as (natural, peroxidic, etc.), is not easy. However, through suitable hyperelastic models (Yeoh, Gent, Ogden, Mooney-Rivlin, etc.), which describe the elastic behavior of the above-mentioned materials using the strain energy density formulations, plasticity models (Ogden, Arruda-Boyce) and damage models (Ogden-Roxburgh, Miehe) it is possible to simulate in FEM environment ( ) stiffnesses, excursions, stresses and strains of each of our custom-made or standard components.
Numerous internal laboratory tests on elastomeric specimens are continuously performed in order to characterize each type of compound used and, through fitting operations on the resulting stress-strain curves, obtain a library of model parameters from which to glean for any design calculation, which represents our know-how.
