This page has been created for Casa Di Gelso as a holiday rental villa. Through my posts I hope not only to share how special this house is but also introduce you to a region of Italy that you might not have considered exploring before. You may not even have heard of it before and therein lies the beauty of Marche. It is largely a hidden gem to tourists and as a result maintains its beauty, authen
ticity and affordability. Casa Di gelso lies amongst the lush wooded hills and fields but Marche also boasts miles of beach and coast line as well as the dramatic Sibillini mountains. If you want excellent, authentic food - there are pizzerias, agriturismos, restaurants, hotels and we can even arrange for someone to come and cook at Casa Di Gelso for you. If you want local, fresh food and drink with little or no carbon footprint - Montelapro ,the nearest village, has its own butcher, baker, pizza and pasta maker and a deli and grocers selling local fruit, veg, cheeses and meats. If you want wine- there are vineyards. If you want olive oil- you can buy direct from the producer. If you want breathtaking- views there are too many to count on offer in all the hilltop villages. If you want shoes (yes shoes!) - This region is one of the largest producers of leather shoes and you can arrange to visit the outlets throughout Le Marche. If you want peace and quiet - relax by the pool and soak up the views. If you want to explore - jump in your car and take to the winding roads. If you want the beach - the nearest is only 35 minutes away. If you want walks or hikes - head for the Sibillini mountains. If you want festivals- throughout July and August and also at other times in the year, there will be festivals running in various villages at the weekends (pizza festivals, beer festivals, sea food festivals, polenta festivals, risotto festivals..................) and they usually have some form of live music as well. Marche genuinely has so much offer and Casa Di Gelso is the perfect location from which to experience it.
