Si racconta che negli anni del dopoguerra in seguito ad un’alluvione fu qui rinvenuto un fantastico tesoro,”la truvatura”, risalente al periodo del cataclisma che sconvolse la ricca città di Netum arroccata sul monte Alveria. Un tragico fatto di sangue segnò questa scoperta e la riportò nell’oblìo, negli stessi luoghi da cui era risorta. The agriturismo Timpa del Sole is established on the slopes
of Mount Alveria, only a few kilometers from the historic town of Noto, and about 300 meters above sea level. Situated on pleasantly rocky and varied terrain, the property covers 12 hectares and it’s overlooked by the “Timpa del Sole”, a mysterious and seductive plateau from which elegant hawks can be seen taking off. The property is surrounded by centuries old carob trees and olive groves as well as a variety of fruit trees, including succulent mulberries and delicious wild figs. The owners produce their own organic extra virgin oil for many years and which is of the higher quality ( come and try it for yourself on a slice of warm bread with a bit of salt and some local oregano ). Delicious marmalades and liqueurs are also produced on site.
* Farm Holidays
We can accommodate up to 22 people with three apartments, two separate double rooms ( one of which has disabled access ) and two bungalows. All rooms have central heating. The apartments include a kitchenette, bathroom with shower and tv. The double rooms have a mini fridge, tv and bathroom with shower. Available to the guests is a welcoming breakfast room, bar, and a small library. For the little ones, some games and toys.
* Camping
Available within the grounds is an area with 5 station for campers, caravans and tents supplied with running water, toilets and showers ( disabled access ). From this area you can enjoy the magical view of the valley that encompasses the city of Noto and the coastline surrounded by ancient car rub trees and olive trees.
