Potevano farlo in tinta unita.
Invece, Le Icone / Furniture & Decor]] ha mantenuto intatti gli strati di patina che sono emersi durante il restauro di questo antico mobile.
Il risultato: un po’ come sezionare un tronco d’albero e scoprire le venature a forma di anello.
Sarà, ma io davanti a queste cose mi emoziono ancora: in un mondo che tende a buttare e dimenticare troppo, il fatto di preservare il ricordo e la memoria anche di un oggetto apparentemente semplice, è pura poesia per i miei occhi.
They could have painted it in a solid color design.
Instead, Le Icone / Furniture & Decor]] have preserved the patina layers that they found during the restoration of this ancient piece of furniture.
The result is almost like cutting the trunks of old trees and finding the ring-shaped veins.
Well, I still get touched by these things: in a world where people tend to throw away or forget too much, the fact of preserving the memory of something – even of an apparently simple piece of furniture, looks like pure poetry to me.

Continuità.
Nel progettare gli interni di questa casa, abbiamo chiesto a Gian Paolo Guerra]] che vi fosse continuità tra il dentro e il fuori.
Ecco allora che anche una finestra che si affaccia su una distesa di ulivi, diventa la cornice perfetta per questo continuo fluire dall’interno verso l’esterno: il verde delle ceramiche, i tavolini fatti a tronco d’albero, le decorazioni a forma di sole, la sobrietà dei colori neutri che esaltano la luce naturale.
Continuity.
When designing the interior of Lamia del Riccio, we asked Gian Paolo Guerra]] to create continuity between the indoor and outdoor of the villa.
Here then is that even a window overlooking an expanse of olive trees, can turn into the perfect frame for this continuous flow between the inside and the outside: the green ceramics, the tree-trunk-like small tables, the sun-like decorations on the wall, the sober, neutral colors that make natural light the focal point.

Si crede che i simboli bianchi dipinti sui tetti a cono dei trulli siano oltre 200: alcuni hanno un significato religioso mentre altri astrologico. Quello che vedete rappresentato nel quadro della camera Gelsomino è un segno primitivo, uno dei più antichi, che di solito venivano dipinti su vasi o strumenti. In molti casi non si è riusciti a dare un’interpretazione a questi segni che – dunque, avvolgono con un’aura di mistero le tipiche piccole costruzioni pugliesi.
It is believed that the white symbols painted on the trulli rooftops are more than 200: some of them had a religious significance whilst others had an astrological meaning. The one represented in the picture in our “Jasmine” room is a primitive one and it belongs to the most ancient symbols, which were mainly found in ancient vases or tools. In most cases these symbols haven’t been interpreted and they therefore add to the mystical appearance of the typical tiny Apulian dwellings.

Un oggetto apparentemente “povero”, eppure cosi’ tanto utilizzato nell’interior design.
Vi lascio nelle stories alcuni utilizzi che ho trovato particolarmente azzeccati e insoliti e che mi sono piaciuti davvero molto.

Verde come simbolo di armonia, calma, equilibrio, contatto con la natura: tutte caratteristiche che – a nostro avviso, ben si sposano con questo luogo, perfetto per chi è alla ricerca di fare il pieno di energia!
