Il teatro venne intitolato a Garibaldi dopo la morte del condottiero, avvenuta nel 1882. La costruzione sorgeva come un anfiteatro a cielo aperto, tuttavia poco dopo - 1877 - venne deciso di coprire l’edificio, affidando il lavoro alla fonderia Oretea. 🔥

Gli abbellimenti furono completati nel 1891 in occasione dell’Esposizione Nazionale, che proprio quell’anno si teneva a Palermo.🇮🇹
