La costruzione del Baglio Cappello risale al 1700 ed è di proprietà della famiglia Cataldo da quattro generazioni. L’azienda, di circa 10 ettari, è gestita da Daniela Adamo e si trova nell'agro di Partinico a circa 40 km da Palermo. Ci dedichiamo alla coltivazione di circa duemila alberi d’ulivo scegliendo l'agricoltura biologica al fine di sviluppare un modello di produzione che impieghi sostanze

naturali e processi di coltivazione virtuosi. Daniela, da sempre appassionata di buon cibo, si è laureata in Scienze Gastronomiche nell'omonima Università nata e promossa da Slow Food. Oltre a dedicarsi al fondo agricolo di famiglia Daniela organizza delle Cooking Class per turisti e appassionati di cucina. L'obiettivo è sia quello di far riscoprire la storia e la gastronomia della cucina siciliana utilizzando ricette del passato o dimenticate, sia quello di educare alla selezione delle materie prime, scegliendo esclusivamente prodotti stagionali a km 0 da produttori locali: uno Show Cooking dall’orto al piatto! These were days full of frenzy, between preparations, meticulous organization of travel, menu programs and accommodations for all the girls who would gather, from all over Italy, here in Sicily for the Slow Stay in Italy gathering.
With and we worked for weeks and when we finally met all last weekend it was a very strong emotion!

These wonderful women are able to work magic!
They have delicate tastes, original ideas, rare sympathy and intelligence, they are energetic and courageous women and so that’s how I thought of a symbol that could bring us all together, a ring, a circle made of clasped hands, common intentions, smiles and affection.
In this circle there is all the spirit of and its wonderful women!

The Sicilian countryside, with its slow pace and unspoiled beauty, is my refuge. Sunset at Baglio Cappello is a ritual that never ceases to enchant me.
The golden light caresses the centuries-old olive trees while the sun greets, painting the sky with a thousand shades.
After intense days, full of encounters and smiles, it is in these moments that I find my peace.
The quiet of the countryside embraces me and prepares me for rest, offering me a spectacle of rare beauty. 🌱❤

It is said that the deepest love phrase, here in Italy, is:
"Have you eaten?"

I identify a lot with this display of care and attention towards people you love, food here in Italy, and especially in Sicily is associated with caring, family, hospitality.

Today in the photo the simplest, home-made, comfort food recipe that I know: cooked bread. Made with leftover bread, tomato and garlic.
If someone prepares you the Cooked Bread, it is certain that they love you!

If there's one thing I love, it's sharing the smiles of friends who come to visit me at Baglio Cappello. 🥰
Just like the ones that blossomed a few days ago on the faces of the wonderful people we spent an afternoon with in the olive grove.
A special thanks to , who was a partner in this little adventure and, with her camera, always manages to capture the beauty of every moment and every small detail.

❤ What could be more satisfying than cooking?
For me, it's a moment of pure serenity. I love opening the pantry and carefully selecting the ingredients, feeling the cool water run through my hands as I wash the vegetables, and letting my instincts guide me as I knead, slowly finding the perfect texture beneath my fingers.
And then there's the thrill of slicing potatoes with the mandoline, that subtle tingle that makes me just slightly pull back my fingertips...

Cooking is like composing a melody: my cutting board at Baglio Cappello is the sheet music, and the stage where this symphony comes to life is my table, surrounded by friends and family!

🍉 On August 15th, here in Sicily, together with the many delicious dishes that we prepare to celebrate with the family, we cannot miss the watermelon frost tart, which we call "Crostata al gelo di mellone".
This is a fresh and delicious dessert that I love decorating with freshly picked jasmine flowers here in Baglio Cappello 😋

💫 When evening falls, here in the countryside, after a hot day, with the scorching sun, everything finally always finds calm.
The earth releases the heat of the day, the breeze begins to slip through the branches of the trees and finally enters the houses.
It's peace.

And it is with this serenity that this evening I will go out into the living darkness of the countryside and here in the courtyard of Baglio Cappello, when the last light has been turned off, I will enjoy the wonder of the starry sky on this summer night of August.

🎂 Yesterday was my birthday.
It was a day full of emotions surrounded by my family and closest friends and everything made me happy: from the hugs, to the smiles, and to the toasts with my beloved cold white wine! 😊🥂
I look back and see all the road I have travelled, and today I find myself with a baggage full of experiences, people, love, that I don't want to let go of.
And this luggage is still very spacious, I put it back on my shoulders and continue walking.

I am happy 😌🌱
