La costruzione del Baglio Cappello risale al 1700 ed è di proprietà della famiglia Cataldo da quattro generazioni. L’azienda, di circa 10 ettari, è gestita da Daniela Adamo e si trova nell'agro di Partinico a circa 40 km da Palermo. Ci dedichiamo alla coltivazione di circa duemila alberi d’ulivo scegliendo l'agricoltura biologica al fine di sviluppare un modello di produzione che impieghi sostanze

naturali e processi di coltivazione virtuosi. Daniela, da sempre appassionata di buon cibo, si è laureata in Scienze Gastronomiche nell'omonima Università nata e promossa da Slow Food. Oltre a dedicarsi al fondo agricolo di famiglia Daniela organizza delle Cooking Class per turisti e appassionati di cucina. L'obiettivo è sia quello di far riscoprire la storia e la gastronomia della cucina siciliana utilizzando ricette del passato o dimenticate, sia quello di educare alla selezione delle materie prime, scegliendo esclusivamente prodotti stagionali a km 0 da produttori locali: uno Show Cooking dall’orto al piatto! Cinnamon Cookies
When I made these cookies, I thought of my loved ones, the people I care about and who live in my heart.

They are super easy and absolutely delicious. Try my recipe!

Ingredients:
300 g of 00 flour
130 g of soft butter, cut into pieces
80 g of sugar
1 whole egg (about 60 g)
1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon of vanilla yeast (optional)
Instructions:
Combine the flour with the softened butter and vanilla yeast (if using).
Add the whole egg, the egg yolk and the sugar.
Mix quickly until you get a smooth dough.
Form a ball with the dough, wrap it in cling film and let it rest in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
Roll out the dough with a little flour or between two sheets of baking paper until it is 1 cm thick.
Cut out the cookies and bake them in a static oven at 180°C (350°F) for 5-8 minutes.
Give them to a special person or keep them all for yourself! ❤😊🍪

🎄I literally love Christmas!
This festive atmosphere really puts me in a good mood and for this reason since the end of November my house has already been decorated for the holidays.
I asked for help from my friend Nina who is an expert in flower design and loves to use the plants, flowers, branches that she finds around my countryside to create real natural works of art.
Like this hanging garland that I hung on the door of my living room in Baglio Cappello.
In the next few days we will show you how to make it because it is really simple!

❤ Miracles can happen around a table.
It is there that all of Italy came together, without borders: north, center, south and islands, all united, all on the same level. An Italy that speaks through food, celebrating the sharing of one of the simplest and most profound gestures: eating together.

And so we savored every specialty that the girls brought from their lands, making one of the most beautiful days spent with Slow Stay in Italy even more memorable: the autumn meeting, here in Sicily.

There was everything: from cured meats to cheeses, from cappellacci to pane cunzato, and then taralli, pepers cruschi, mustards, burrata and a myriad of other delicacies. Tasting the flavors of every corner of our splendid peninsula at the same time was a privilege, a sensory journey that reminded us how rich and unique our culinary heritage is.

These were days full of frenzy, between preparations, meticulous organization of travel, menu programs and accommodations for all the girls who would gather, from all over Italy, here in Sicily for the Slow Stay in Italy gathering.
With and we worked for weeks and when we finally met all last weekend it was a very strong emotion!

These wonderful women are able to work magic!
They have delicate tastes, original ideas, rare sympathy and intelligence, they are energetic and courageous women and so that’s how I thought of a symbol that could bring us all together, a ring, a circle made of clasped hands, common intentions, smiles and affection.
In this circle there is all the spirit of and its wonderful women!

"Have you eaten?"

I identify a lot with this display of care and attention towards people you love, food here in Italy, and especially in Sicily is associated with caring, family, hospitality.

Today, all over the world, we celebrate Grandparents' Day.
So today I want to think of my grandparents, without whom this wonderful place where I live would not exist, at least not as it is today.
Thanks to the hard work of my grandparents, of the families who worked in these fields, thanks to every little stone, tile, brick, roof tile laid by their tireless hands, thanks to every olive tree, every flower or tree planted in the earth, thanks also to the tenacity of the women in my family who have carried on the traditions of a family united around a table in the evening, to the recipes passed down, to the secrets told with a small whisper that the grandmothers made in the ears of my mother and my aunt and then to us grandchildren...

For me, it's a moment of pure serenity. I love opening the pantry and carefully selecting the ingredients, feeling the cool water run through my hands as I wash the vegetables, and letting my instincts guide me as I knead, slowly finding the perfect texture beneath my fingers.
And then there's the thrill of slicing potatoes with the mandoline, that subtle tingle that makes me just slightly pull back my fingertips...

Cooking is like composing a melody: my cutting board at Baglio Cappello is the sheet music, and the stage where this symphony comes to life is my table, surrounded by friends and family!

🍉 On August 15th, here in Sicily, together with the many delicious dishes that we prepare to celebrate with the family, we cannot miss the watermelon frost tart, which we call "Crostata al gelo di mellone".
This is a fresh and delicious dessert that I love decorating with freshly picked jasmine flowers here in Baglio Cappello 😋
