The Emilian Way Internationalization Consortium aims to bring the experiences and know-how of the Emilia Romagna region to the USA. This “link” will help companies from Emilia-Romagna to operate within the large American market and create a network of companies within the territory, beginning with those in the agri-food industry. The United States is the third largest market for products from Emilia-Romagna, especially in the industries of mechanics, transport, ceramics, food, and fashion.
The main objective is to focus on a single market; networking, as well as aggregating resources and know-how in order to establish, manage, and develop a stable and continuous presence in the United States, as well as to promote products of the Emilia-Romagna companies and have contacts and information on the market.
The United States is a key market for companies originating in Emilia-Romagna. The trade exchange between Emilia-Romagna and the USA, which accounts for approximately 10% of the region’s total international exports, amounts to around 6 billion euro, a number that is continuously increasing every year.
There are nearly 5,000 companies from the region that export to the United States, of which 64% do not export regularly. This data represents the great opportunity for companies who are able to turn their commercial activities into a continuous and stable presence in the US market.
