This remarkable exhibition delves into how bypasses — critical infrastructures in transportation — are designed to navigate and overcome obstacles, whether natural or man-made.

Few experiences blend history, culture, and taste as seamlessly as an evening spent at Palazzo Taverna, one of Rome’s most ancient and storied palaces.

Recently, we had the pleasure of returning to this remarkable venue, invited by Feudi di San Gregorio, one of our selected suppliers, for an exclusive aperitif showcasing their wines, initiatives, and deep-rooted passion for winemaking.

Feudi di San Gregorio is not just any winery—it is a prestigious producer from the lesser-known region of Irpinia, where traditions run deep and winemaking dates back to ancient Roman times.

One of their wines even traces its heritage directly to the Romans, adding a fascinating historical dimension to every sip!

This invitation brought back great memories, as we previously had the opportunity to organize a unique event at Palazzo Taverna in collaboration with Feudi di San Gregorio. That event was designed to immerse our guests in the very essence of Rome, weaving together food, wine, and music in a setting rich with centuries of history.

Palazzo Taverna, once the residence of the Orsini and Borgia families, is a hidden gem in the heart of Rome—just steps from Piazza Navona and Castel Sant’Angelo. With its elegant halls, historic charm, and timeless ambiance, it is the perfect setting for exclusive dinners, business meetings, and private gatherings.

Stefano Caccavari, the visionary behind Mulinum, is a shining example of how tradition and innovation can come together to create a lasting impact.

"Recovering the past to build the future is the key to our success," he says—a philosophy that deeply resonates with us at Italian Special Occasions.

His journey began in San Floro, a small town in Calabria, where nature and agriculture have long been the heart of the community.

When Stefano discovered that the last natural stone mill in the region was about to close, he saw more than just the loss of a building—he saw the potential disappearance of centuries-old knowledge, local grain cultivation, and the artisanal techniques that make flour not just an ingredient, but a symbol of heritage.

Rather than standing by, he took action. With a simple yet powerful idea, he launched a crowdfunding campaign on Facebook, rallying a community that believed in his vision.

The result? 500,000 euros raised—enough to save the mill and give birth to Mulinum, now the world’s largest agricultural startup dedicated to ancient grains.

But this project is about more than just a mill. It’s about revitalizing an entire ecosystem, ensuring that sustainable farming, traditional methods, and high-quality local food continue to thrive for generations to come.
