Perfect Sunsets ⭐️
Only October shows us these sunset colors, these contrasts, this fresh air breeze. Only autumn 🍂 gives me this nostalgic feeling. So we went to Amalfi and did shopping , because the Summer is over - no need for a bikini anymore, let’s buy cookies, cakes and just be happy in cozy sweaters 🩷

Anger 🔥
I was finishing the last check in when my phone rang and Leni’s teacher was on the other side: “ Mrs. Sommer I guess it’s better to pick your little daughter up from school. She vomited 2 times and is not feeling well.”
I knew, Leni would not easily get over the things that happened yesterday night in Praiano: the shock of the huge fire, her dad being out in the darkness the whole night to keep the situation under control, Leni’s anxiousness for all her animal friends, the ash everywhere this morning.
In short words she was literally freaking out the whole night in panic for her beloved animals because she couldn’t understand that people are that mad and sick in their brain to start a fire.🔥

“Today is a hard day for me" she says and keeps quiet.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I ask my daughter.
“Nope” says Leni after awhile "I don't think I want that."
"That's totally fine," I tell my 10 year old girl and kiss her.
"But you know," I continue, "difficult days are a lot easier when you know someone's there for you.”

Concentration 🌈
Many people sent me messages in private IF my kids really enjoy the cultural events they are attending. Yes, they do. And yes both girls like it.
Leni was 4 years old when she saw her first opera for kids - most of them are about 60/70min. They have in general dramatic voices and movements and fancy costumes. The same for art exhibitions- I always book guided tours for kids or request a kid friendly guide. My girls love to explore different art styles, especially workshops like we did in Vienna for Picasso.
I guess it is just important to find the right approach and to prepare the girls perfectly before we do a new adventure 🩵

That moment 🩵
Leni had the most beautiful experiences with her traverse flute yesterday and I am so proud of my daughter. She participated at the “Un mare di flauto” 1000 traverse flutes in Salerno. She was able to follow a masterclass, she met beautiful people and then she had this one moment: when she realized that it is ok to be different. “Mom, the people here all love their flute and they are all like me. They give their instrument a name, they love all types of music, they have fun making music. I was so nervous to play with all these people, but it went so well. I love music, mom, I just love music!”

Time 🦋
And then I met you Suzie, it’s now over three years that we know each other in person - the last of the three photos was our first time. You are always present, here on Instagram, a little smile, a short message, a twinkle, I got used to your presence and I feel like we know each other really well. I know, our time today for a quick cappuccino was not long, but it felt so great seeing you. Life has many challenges for us - I know you have some to resolve but I am convinced all will be fine. Thank you for always thinking of us - my girls and me, this is the wonderful side of social media! 🌈

While the girls were walking up to church this morning with their backpacks I could hear Rosi asking her sister: “Leni, I am a bit afraid of school tomorrow.” Leni turned around and said to her little sister: “That’s normal, I feel you. It’s my 5th time and I am a bit nervous too. And also sad, because our Summer holidays are over. But I am happy to see my friends. Now we bring our backpacks to be blessed so they protect us and tomorrow you just take my hand and we walk together the stairs up to school.”

Fear 🩵
„Mum, are you afraid?“ Leni asked me while we were enjoying the stunning views from above. „What do you mean?“ I asked my daughter. „In general.“ she said. „Yes, my love. Life is beautiful, it can be stunning, exciting, incredible, but life can also be frustrating, exhausting and challenging. I am afraid of some people, of our daily routine, sometimes life in general, of some situations and of our work - all these moments can bring me to my knees and I will start crying. I am afraid of crying. But I learned to live with these fears - they somehow protect me. Because my fears let me understand my emotions, my emotions are important as these make me human. With your birth and the years after I learned that being human and showing my feelings is so important, otherwise how could you learn to respect and understand your feelings? Life is not perfect, there are beautiful days and dark moments. Important is to live with your emotions- this will turn you into a well balanced human being.

Time 🩵
In these days there is not a lot of time for “us”, work is taking over all the time and strength, days start very early and finish very late. Feeling tired and guilty, I still always try to be at home for lunch with the girls, a short time for playing and a chat, that’s all I can manage in this moment. And then my girls surprise me - they are just the best. “Mum, if you need to work that hard we just work too, so we have time together!” 🩵

Day off 🩵
11 years ago Peppe’s little daughter Annalisa complaint about missing her dad during summer as he used to leave the house early before she woke up and used to work long hours. So we decided to take a day off for family time - the 8th of August became our official “ Family Day”. Every season we block this date and go out with our boats, our captains bring their families and we just enjoy a great fun day on the water: we just do what our clients experience every day on board, we enjoy the beautiful Amalfi Coast! 🩷

A moment 🌊
The forecast showed rough wind for the late afternoon, at 3:00pm the boats were still coming in and out of Positano. 15min later it changed - the sea got rough, half of the beach was flooded, we tried to wait a bit but then Peppe’s decision was to turn around with all boats and disembark in the port of Amalfi. 53 people on board - safety comes first. Its just some minutes - calm sea to rough and wild. 🩵

Love ♥️
Love is not easy to find, sometimes we fall in love and then the feeling just goes away and we feel empty. My dad always said: “Save your feelings for someone who really cares.” You know what? He was so right - there is nothing more beautiful than to be loved by you and to see you being loved deeply by all your daughters ♥️

Patience ♥️
Sometimes decisions made for the business are not always easy to understand for people looking from outside. In general Peppe always decides with prudence when deciding about our boats. As we had to recover from Covid and are a small family business our boat Red Passion had to wait until this year to get the maintenance it really needed. Today was the big day, Red Passion touched the ocean again at 6am. It is easy to buy a boat but it is really difficult to find the perfect captain - somehow boats are like dogs, they are very much like their owners and our boats are very much like their captains 🤪. Thank you because you believed and supported our decision because you had the same dream like we had - the red beauty is back and she is all yours! ♥️

The first day back home is always very emotional - this time also the heat and the humidity made us suffer a bit. It is really hot in our area. The girls were dreaming of going out with one of our boats but stayed all day long home with the air con running 24 hrs.

Goodbyes 🩵
Every goodbye hurts a little bit, it’s the unknown for the girls an me, the fact that we do not really know when we will see my family again - can be soon in some weeks or in some months. The memories stay in our hearts and the tears will dry on my little girls cheeks. The last hugs get tighter and longer, the older I become. It’s the perfume, the smell of the hair, the last long look in the blue eyes of my beloved mum - I will never get used in saying goodbye. 🩵
