Escutcheon for the entries of Casa Serena. I think these were from the medical school in Padova where doctorates were conferred on my mothers side. Rendered by master ceramist Antono Guida in Agropoli in a southern Italian style. Cool!

Exquisitly beautiful Cilento. I finally got back inthe water after many days recovering from surgery. All is well. Doctor told me I will now have the strength of 12 average men.

There were more students in my high school class that there are inhabitants of the hilltop village of Prignano Cilento. Life and the people here offer a sweetness that can be nourishment for the soul. Alfonso Carpinelli AKA CompAlfonso is the first local we met in Prignano. He and his whole extended family and friends (many many) have become like family to us. He has a small farm down by the dam but, to our surprise, he also keeps a small patch of veg right here in the village. The rainbow in the back ground is a reminder of the stunning beauty that constantly presents in Prignano Cilento.

A lovely lunch in a stunnng setting. We really enoyed showing our CT neighbors. Leslie, Richard, Lauren, Eric, Davis and Rita the stunning beauty that is Cilento. Neighbors from Cilento and Salerno joined in. Ristorante Il Calesse Is in Castellabate in the actual Castle of the Abbot (thus the name). If your lucky, Signora Perrotti will show you the room and bed where Murat slept during the reign of the French in Naples and Sicily. The fishing boats parade in the harbor below, celebrating San Marco, the patron saint.

The only ones missing are Eric Lee Bowman and Caitlin because they had to catch the ferry back to Amalfi. By some good fortune we were able to all gather at once for a lovely lunch in charming Salerno.
