Chianti Classico 2022, only 2,600 bottles

Some of you might have already tasted it, shared it, or poured it for a special moment. Now, it’s time to officially introduce our Chianti Classico 2022, our second vintage.

100% Sangiovese from a manual harvest in small crates in mid late September.
Spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks, with 20 days of skin contact.
Aged for 18 months in Slavonian oak and steel, followed by at least 8 months in a bottle.

We craft our wines with passion, hoping they speak for themselves. This vintage has been recognized with 93 points by a respected wine critic—something that makes us happy, but more than anything, we’re grateful to share it with you.

Our IGT Toscano Rosso. Our very first red wine, Ritorno 2021, is now sold out – and we couldn’t be more grateful for the love it received.

But the journey continues… Introducing Ritorno 2022 – the same soul, a different vintage. Evolved, matured, and perfectly balanced: intense yet young, fresh, and vibrant. Crafted just as we envisioned, aged solely in concrete tanks and bottle – no wood – letting this magical wine speak for itself.

Only 1,600 bottles will be released, a true testament to our vineyards as they age and our wine knowledge as it grows. For everyone who loved our Ritorno 2021, this vintage is its refined, evolved self.

And just like that, another harvest comes to a close… yet, it is only the beginning.

This year presented its own set of challenges, particularly with the rain keeping us on our toes throughout September. Despite these unexpected turns, every hour spent in the vineyard, every late night in the cellar, and every helping hand made all the difference.

As we reflect on these moments, we are filled with pride and gratitude. The dedication and guidance of our team, along with the support from friends who pitched in, truly brought this harvest to life. It serves as a reminder that great wine requires not only skill but also dedication and consistency.

Here’s to teamwork, passion, and toasting the fruits of hard work!

One of our favorite views at Podere Ferrale will become even more special—this beautiful corner will be transformed into 1 acre (a bit less than 0.5 hectares) of vineyards.

As part of our ongoing efforts to restore the estate, and with ideal sun exposure, we’ve decided (perhaps out of passion—or pure madness) to expand our winery.

While we’re still planning the work and exploring potential varietals, one thing is certain—it will be one something that reflects both the character of this land and our own style....maybe Malvasia nera?

Expanding our vineyards will give us the opportunity to be more creative and explore new flavors.

We’re so excited to see this project take root and bringing these vines to life! 🌱

Podere Ferrale's debut at Radda nel Bicchiere edition 2024 edition was an incredible experience!

We had a fantastic weekend full of opportunities and joy. Meeting so many wine lovers and makers from different ages and nationalities was truly special.

We shared our story and presented our family-run winery on this prestigious stage among well-known Radda wine producers. The compliments we received were heartwarming. ❤️

And if that wasn't enough, we were awarded 3rd place in the XV edition of the Radda nel Bicchiere blind tasting for our Chianti Classico 2021, competing against 32 Chianti Classicos from Radda in Chianti! 🥉🍇
