"There are so many reasons I love Customwalks. When I hike in the United States, I'm usually the adult who plans for our group. It's a lot of work and exhausting. Customwalks lets me relax and enjoy the adventure. The guides are amazing. They easily navigate the unexpected, whether it be the occasional poor weather, illness, or an injury, and do so in a manner that doesn't negatively impact the rest of the group.

They know the history of the areas we are in, usually away from the big crowds and off the beaten path. It is clear that they have fostered relationships with fabulous restaurants, hotels, and rifugios. The food is amazing, and the scenery breathtaking. The difficulty ratings of their hikes are clear and straightforward, very well done. In my 50s, what is hard for me is not what it would have been in my 20s, and the descriptions make it easy to determine what is involved. Customwalks has given me the confidence to travel to countries I would never have imagined and keeps me coming back for the next adventure. Moreover, Customwalks has been a great way to introduce my children to international travel and spend quality time with them.

So far, if memory serves me, I've done the Dolomite Grand Traverse, the Alta Via Dolomites, Amalfi, Turkey, and am coming this year for Lake Como and the Southern Greek Isles. Honestly, if I had time, I'd schedule another."

Cyclone Zorba made us scramble our plans a bit, but our Dodecanese Island trip had a fabulous day hiking into the volcanic crater on Nisyros.

The volcanic soil around Mt. Etna in Sicily is so fertile, we felt like we were walking through the garden of Eden! 😘🍎🌋

Our guide trip to northern Greece culminated yesterday with a hike up to the Dragon Lake beyond the Astraka mountain hut. Gorgeous!
