The two lions that seem to introduce the Sanctuary square actually conclude the avenue that starts from the Monument to the Fighters of the WW1, dedicated to their memory, citing the beginning year on one side and the ending year on the other - I due leoni che sembrano introdurre al piazzale del Santuario in realtà concludono il viale che parte dal Monumento ai Combattenti della prima guerra mondiale, dedicato al loro ricordo, citando l'anno di inizio da un lato e quello di fine dall'altro.

Discover the wetland, in the lower Olona park in Rho. It represents an "artificial oxbowl" created in the "Olona enters the city" project.
In fact, once the rivers - then without banks - were free to move, changing their course and leaving portions of abandoned riverbeds as they passed, creating wetlands.
The environment that has been created in recent years is rich in plant and fauna biodiversity thanks also to the low slope of the banks with reed areas alternating with small beaches - Scopri la zona umida, nel parco della basso Olona a Rho, rappresenta una "lanca artificiale" realizzata nel progetto " l'Olona entra in città".
Un tempo infatti I fiumi -allora privi di argini - erano liberi di muoversi, cambiando il loro corso e lasciando al loro passaggio porzioni di alveo abbandonato creando zone umide.
L'ambiente che si è creato in questi anni è ricco di biodiversità vegetale e faunistica grazie anche alla bassa pendenza delle sponde con aree a canneti alternate con piccole spiagge. Reposted from
